Is it me or does it sound like that Hishon is trying new treatment for future concussions and will shut him down 4 weeks than his original concussion sustained from NcNabb?

Well, if he really is getting "treatments" that would keep him out 4 weeks, that would indicate he's had a setback of some sorts or experiencing symtoms again. I can't imagine just a strengthening type of treatment would keep him out of action.
I don't know if it's true or not but Moneyyy does seem to follow Hishon closely looking at his post history.

I'm unaware of any such prophylactic "treatment", which obviously doesn't mean much, but if such a thing exists wouldn't we have heard of similar situations with pro players coming back from concussion? I'm assuming if the kid is being shut down for 4 weeks its because he's still experiencing some degree of residual PCS - anything else is reading a lot into very little information. Though obviously without a documented source we can't say much either way.
TPS mentioned a long time ago that Hishon was experiencing symptoms much worse than Mueller was - I don't have a lot of optimism for his future anymore unfortunately, though of course I wish him all the best and a full recovery if there were any fairness in the world.
In the summer it was said that Hishon had whiplash ala Crosby. Iirc Crosby also took time off when he made his cone back. I think people are overreacting, Hishy will be fine.

Indeed, we spoke about it in the prospects thread a month or two back. Whiplash is harder to diagnose post-concussion but much, MUCH more treatable compared to severe concussions. I can't think of a good analogy to make, but just imagine being treated for the wrong thing for several months only to learn the docs were wrong, that's Hishon.
He'll be fine long term, he just needs to slowly ease back into competition and working out.
My biggest concern is not with him, but Avs management being patient enough with him. I feel like the Avs don't like committing to prospects often. Stoa was a bit of an exception to the rule.
If Avalanche management is wise they should operate under the assumption that Hishon will never provide any impact at the NHL level. Fans would be wise to follow suit.

After all this time, I don't think this is an unreasonable veiwpoint. From a purely financial standpoint the Av's have very little invested in Hishon. Perhaps someone like Pracey or some fans are still intrigued by his talent but I doubt Sherman is. The only thing he knows for sure is that he is paying for an unproven non-performing asset.(albiet not much) It appears those situations don't sit well with him. This is a bottom line first sports empire. I'm interested to see how things are handled when he returns.

Agreed, and to be honest based on the way they handled the Fleischmann and Mueller situations, I'm certain that this is the approach they will take. I'm sure they'll give it some more time but I doubt there are really including him in any long term plans at this point.

If he still needs treatments that would keep him out 4 weeks during training camp, a year and half after the hit, it's a bit worrisome no matter how you cut it.
I think it was Moneyyy that mentioned it was a neck issue too if I'm not mistaken.
Kane Lafranchise has been offered a try-out. I want him to make the Monsters and the Avs so bad just beacause of his name.
I hope this guy is a late boomer and suddenly bursts onto the scene and becomes the Avs franchise player because of that name. That name is simply amazing.

I went to elementary school with Jamie, pretty cool to see his name on the training camp roster. I've never seen him play but he's an awesome dude who has been through a lot, definitely a good character guy to have on a team.
