Here are the stats thus far. Some career AHLers leading the way, but encouraging results from guys like Brad Malone, Luke Walker, Justin Mercier, and Cameron Gaunce, all of whom I hope will play depth roles for the Avs someday.

Also a silver lining since it sure looks like David Quinn is going to be the next Avs head coach very, very soon.
He does seem to have brought some stability to the Monsters, but I wonder how much of that success has to do with the Avs being fairly healthy and not calling up their whole roster, along with good goaltending, and LEM being able to ice a pretty good team for the first time in like.....ever it seems?

Quinn managed to do fairly well even when the Avs were continually raiding his roster. Made the playoffs last season for the first time in franchise history, and keep in mind he kinda already IS dealing with injury issues, given that two key players (Hishon, Olver) have yet to play a single game in Cleveland and Michael Carman missed significant time.

Probably the most important factor in all of this though is the stability Desjardins is providing. Much better than the days of John Grahame or Donald Wall providing a decidedly less-than-consistent effort.

How closely do you follow LEM? I've always been curious about Carman since the Avs drafted him, and thought he could be what O'Reilly is now. But with Radar and McLement solidifying the bottom two lines, I don't know what kind of place he has with the team, unless they move Jay Mac.

Not too closely to be honest. I track stats and listen closely to what the actual LEM fans on these boards have to say, but don't really have access to the goings-on of the team.

Based on what I've seen/read about Carman, including HF, my personal opinion is that he's a long shot for the NHL at this point, especially considering how many players have passed him up on the depth chart. He's a key player for the Monsters, but I don't believe he'll ever hit a level sufficient for NHL play.

That's the way it seems to me now too. Too bad, I really felt he could be a good role player. Maybe he'll put it together later in his career for another team.

Monsters lose 2-1 to the Aeros tonight...what's more concerning is that Cann started this game as well. What's wrong with Cedrick the Net-ertainer?

I'm pretty sure Desjardins played like 9 of 10 games, it was probably a scheduled day off. Goalies have to have those you know.

Lower body injury for Desjardins, that why Reid was called up from Allen.

That tirade is having positive after-effects too, Stoa had two goals last night in a 4 - 1 LEM victory.

Unless something drastic changes in the front office, he's the odds on favorite to be the Avs next head coach. Whenever that may be.

Quinn has done pretty good things in Lake Erie, got them into the playoffs for the first time last season despite us calling up half the roster, and this year, after a brutally slow start has the Monsters winning. They're right around .500 despite starting 0-6 and steadily improving, and they're missing a couple centers still

Sounds exactly what made Sacco successful in his first year. The players will get tired of it by year 2. The avs need a tactician an x and O's coach, is Quinn that type? From only reading about him he seems like Sacco 2.0

Quinn's AHL record is already much better than Sacco's, and he has a good record at BU. He would definitely be better than Sacco, but yeah he's too green and shouldn't be our next coach. Assistant in charge of the D I'd be go ok with, if I'm not wrong he served that role at BU quite well for a while.

Not sure why you think that, the guy is WAY more experienced than Sacco, and has worked at a variety of different levels. Oh, and he won an NCAA championship. The only similarity between him and Sacco is that both are disciplinarian-type coaches.

On a side note, the coach for the Eagles one-upped Quinn the other night.

Nope, but that still puts him ahead of Sacco.

That's not saying much. You might even be ahead of Sacco.

Really hope we don't get Quinn if Sacco is fired.

Nice to see them bounce back strong after our old friend Chris Durno did 'em in the other night.

If Elliott gets sent down, I'm pretty sure that Barrie will be up next.

Honestly don't see that happening, but I wouldn't mind seeing what Barrie can do if only for a short time.

Just read Monsters are 11-11-1-1. Nice.
