What would it take to get Dave Bolland to Buffalo?
Edit- Buffalo can't move Derek Roy.
At this time the Hawks wouldn’t trade Bolland, but I would ask for:
Nathan Gerbe or Tyler Ennis, Luke Adam, either rights to Mike Weber or Drew Schiestel, and a pick in 2012 (2nd if Gerbe, 3rd if Ennis)…
He is one of the best defensive centers in the game (don’t confuse this with elite two way centers like Datysuk, Toews, Kesler etc.). His impact in the 1st round this season and during last year’s Cup run makes is his value close to that of one of the elite two way centers.
Bowman has no intention to trade Bolland. You don't trade Bolland + for Roy from a Hawks POV
you don't trade Bolland for Roy straight up from a Hawks POV
Not that Bolland > Roy but thats what it would need to get him to Buffalo.
all in all, not good trading partners for Roster Players and both have the same needs
I really am beginning to hate how every team's fans here on HF feel entitled to be overpaid in any trade. Every asset in hockey, it seems, is either worthless or "only available for overpayment."
most of our players could be had without overpayment. Bolland is different.
Bolland is well loved and was a big part of our Cup Winning Team. If you want Hossa, let's talk and we find a deal. Hjalmarsson? What would you offer?
Hawks Fans will always remember Bolland, Buff, Toews, Kane, Sharp, Keith and Seabrook as the reason we won the Cup. We will always remember what they did for us.

Well, tough **** because it's the truth. This is why trades don't happen as frequently as they are proposed on this fine forum.
Either way, as was said above, this is a pointless thread. The Hawks are lacking depth at Center, so why would we look to trade one of our two away? (Sharp belongs on the wing) Won't happen, thread over.

like I said, I'm not saying Bolland > Roy
I pretty much agree with this. Truth is, we can't give a C without getting an equal or more talented C in return, because our center depth is deplorable, even taking Sharp as an option into consideration. Buffalo's situation down the middle isn't any better.

This is a theme that has forever permeated these boards. I understand the concept of being a fan and being in love with your team...however...the vast majority of posters on here simply refuse to attempt to put together a deal that's good on both sides, always coming up with some homeristic explanation for how he means so much more to his team than any other on earth and as such would need to see the exact same player in return, plus a 1st rounder, stud prospect, and top 6 forward/top 4 dman in return. It's nauseating how largely pointless this entire portion of the forum is.
The thread title states "THE VALUE" of Dave Bolland to Buffalo. To ME...this means, from a Buffalo Sabres perspective (not a FANS perspective) what assets would be worth moving in order to pencil in Bolland as a center. The only responses on here should be ones that attempt to reconcile what pieces of Buffalo's roster are dispensable in an effort to acquire Bolland.
I don't really see Bolland get traded anywhere, he's a key piece for that team
That isn't the point of this conversation. The idea is to just...spit things out. Brainstorm. 99% of these threads get highjacked by people who say "He won't get traded," or "We're not interested." This is hypothetical. This simple goes back to what I said on my last post. People on this site are so inherently GD defensive about their teams and players, that the mere suggestion of them in one of these threads, makes people raise their hands ready to fight. It's really amazing. I don't see Bolland being traded either. If we were deep down the middle, it'd still be debatable. Dave brings a unique combination of skill, grit, and agitation to the ice. Good energy too. I'd like to think someone like Pominville or Stafford would have to come back our way if we shipped out Bolland. Might be some pieces here or there coming and going on either side to make it completely level.
And canucks 22, I'm not insinuating you were doing any of those things I said in my last post, just to be clear. I'd have edited it, but I'm currently without that function because of my history of being such an eloquent, polite, well-spoken, yielding individual.
