Yeah, the Caps are real interested in trading for this collection of future blah while adding a 40-40 guy to Datsyuk's wing.

GMGM's a real charitable guy.

They could get more for Semin.

I could see Semin moved for sure. Hudler would make sense as some salary has to go back. Would take a good prospect and a 1st too?

How about no prospects and instead a legit roster player(s) to a team that is just as interested in winning a Cup as Detroit?

Or if prospects are so awesome, how about the Wings trade Datsyuk to the Caps for Kuznetsov, Orlov and Colorado's 1st?

It would take a lot more. Kindl is trash and that 2nd/3rd rounder would be very late.

This. Caps/Wings are the wrong trading partners for this type of deal. More realistic is probably Spezza in OTT or something along those lines (unless the Sens think they're a playoff team this year?).

This doesn't make sense for either team. The Caps aren't going to trade Semin when they're taking a run at the cup. And Detroit isn't going to be adding a soft player commanding upwards of $6M who'll probably give them negotiating hell.

If the Caps trade Semin, they need a second line center capable of creating offense in return, or a stud two-way defenseman.

I don't get why people think we can trade our worst forward and our worst defensemen for a superstar... hudler has no trade value

Semin wouldn't survive one game under the Babcock Death Stare.

Wings would have to start at Flip + Smith

The one in the OP is pretty bad. Not the worst I've seen in this forum but still bad.

Kindl's trash? Wow I am sure glad that there is a lot of arm chair gm's. No hudler plus kindl plus pick would not get it done but huds plus nyquist plus fil plus first he signs or second if he doesn't. If that is too much salary than take out fil and add sheahan who I don't really want to give up or nestrasil who I would rather give up.

We're going to get a star for Hudler and a bag of late round beans?

This. Of course Detroit will likely pass.

I do think Semin would be a great fit in Detroit though.

THANK YOU!

Hudler will not get any return, it's going to have to be someone like Filppula or better. You can't expect to acquire top 6 players while just dumping your trash and some picks on another team.

I'd rather wait for Semin to become UFA, if he likes to come here that is. I can see that happening next year since Caps will want him for the playoffs. Caps will probably need that cap space to lock up Carlsson and re-sign other parts of their roster.

What the ****? Is he now? And you judge him based on what?

I doubt Washington moves Semin for cheap. They are tight on cap space, but they won't trade him for anything.

I still want Semin with Datsyuk though. And I want to move Hudler.

Filppula+Hudler+Kindl+late round pick for Semin+1st/2nd round pick? It's overpayment though...

I don't mind semin but hudler and flip is gonna be too much cap space for the caps to take back since they r tight up against. I say flip or huds plus prospect, I would add kindl plus to sheahan plus nyquist plus two first for semin and carrlson. Would add more if I have too.

Alright let me try.

To Washington:
Filppula, Nyquist, 3nd round pick

To Detroit:
Semin

How's that any better??

P.S. Smith wouldnt be included in any deal he's Detroit's top prospect and they wont move him.
