Arnott who will ask 3.5M to play for the habs 4th line with Darche and White. He will finish the year with 20 pts and will bring nothing to the table in the end. But yes, I know Arnott is better that Konopka offensively...

Anyway I was refering to Renaud Lavoie Twitter when he was saying that PG was looking for a bigger player. Because bigger doesn't mean tougher.

If Konopka only received a 700 k offer for 1 year, that means there wasnt a big market for him. He-is-not-that-good.

okay, I wanted konopka too, but he's just a 4th liner. Don't lose sleep over it.

Ladd just signed a nice contract. 4.4 per year, 5 years. I would've traded for him and signed him, that would've been nice.

Cole-Plekanec-Cammalleri
Pacioretty-Gomez-Gionta
Kostitsyn-Eller-Ladd
White-Desharnais-Moen
Darche

I know it wasn't gonna happen, just admiring adding another proven winner(2 cups and only 25 years old) who can play top 6 or bottom 6.

OK, but let's make sure that one of our new "protector" guys' fingers isn't in that mouth at the time.

Hey guys remember that one game you can't stop talking about. That's right, it was one game, out of eighty-two that the Habs got beat up. If you're looking for Gauthier to construct a team to beat up the Bruins don't hold your breath. Their fans live for that stuff, they have to keep them engaged so they aren't checking Celtics, and Red Sox news on their phone while the hockey game is on.

Arnott will play on the 3rd line and he can play on the top6 if we have injury and he won't be paid 3,5 millions.

Kostitsyn-Arnott-Deharnais.

Seriously. I get wanted to add a good physical player, but an enforcer? What's he gonna do, 90% of the guys in the league can't take on Lucic or Chara anyway and these aren't staged fights(from our perspective anyway). So the enforcer wouldn't even be on the ice while people are getting pounded, but oh wait, he might challenge their enforcer after. Sweet revenge?

I'd be ok with signing Winchester but I wouldn't be too thrilled if PG went out and signed Jacques. He is a brutal hockey player.

Lost in all of this Konopka BS is the only actual bit of relevant Habs news provided by Lavoie's tweet.

Habs are looking to add another forward. Most people expected this, but it wasn't a guarantee. Any suggestions?

This statement is absolutely correct; what we need to do is find a Bobby Clarke lite, one that is willing to get on the ice and break an opposing players ankle and then skate off like nothing happened

At this point we are about where we were last year, IMO - which is battling for the last 2 playoff spots.

I think WAS, PIT, BOS, TB, PHI and BUF have better overall clubs.

Exactly, we sign a guy to fight, the only one he ends up fighting is Thorton. Lucic and Chara will continue to play their shifts against our top lines, Lucic will continue to get angry and sucker punch after the whistle while our tough guy is sitting on the bench.

It doesn't prevent, or deter them from doing the crap they do.

What about ryan johnson as our 4th line center. He is a beast in the faceoff dot (63%, best in the league)...he is a beast on the PK, perfect mix for the habs and he wouldnt cost much.

Arnott is a good player, not a 4th liner though, but not all matchups are based on finese. He's a big body that can line up well against certain weaker centers. That being said, I can't see him fitting here because he's more of a 3rd line guy at this point and not a 4th liner.

#canadiens did not make an offer to Zenon Konopka. I can tell you that Pierre Gauthier is working to get a bigger forward.

Nice one. PG type signing would fit right into Halpern's role, I could see him being a JM type favourite. If Arnott can sign at a reasonable number he's a nice fit. The more I think about it, the more I think Jarret Stoll would be work nicely too. Played with Cammy in LA I beleive, good sized two way right handed centreman with a chip on his shoulder. LA maybe needs room to sign Doughty.

PK trying to convince Laraque to come back?
