What about bringing back Scott Hannan?

What about bringing back Scott Hannan?
Maybe a 1 year $3.5m deal. Sharks need an elite shutdown defenseman like Hannan to improve their 24th rank PK. Their D would be set.
Murray-Boyle
Vlasic-Burns
Hannan-Demers
Vandermeer/Braun

Nah our D is done now. We need to use the rest of our space on forwards.

I wouldn't say he's bad. Calling him elite is a HUGE stretch tough.

Honestly rather have Vandermeer. He's big, mean, and he's very good defensively. That is what we need, not soft as a kitten Scott Hannen.

Sign Scott Hannen, Sign Mettinen always play them at the same time so we cant have the Kitten-Mitten connection.

What is it with Sharks fans wanting to bring back old players who happen to suck now?

No chance. Our D is done. A portion of the remaining cap should be used on a forward.

Hannan is a "Grab 'n hold NHL" defenseman who's struggled since NHL cleaned up after the lockout. He's not an "elite shutdown" and he's not worth bringing back. Vandermeer fills his slot as #5-6 anyway.

This. Hannan is not elite at anything.

was a huge Hannan fan back in the day, but he's not a new NHL kind of player. Pass

as said above, I like our D as it is now. If we do bring in anyone, I would want cheap prospects to send to Wooster.

No. He's slow and not a great puck mover.

Didn't care for Hannan after the lockout. Care even less for him now.

Scott Hannan is quite possibly my all time favorite Shark, and (interestingly enough) the reason I originally joined HF.
And even I say, Hell to the No.
