Captain of the Jets, 29 goals, still relatively young, won 2 cups. Highly doubt they give this guy up for scraps. Their defense is pretty awesome too so any thoughts of throwing MDZ/McIlrath in the deal are pointless with guys like Byfuglien, Bogosian, Enstrom still there.

Maybe Kreider? They need good centers and a top sixxer not named Anthony Stewart though he's with Carolina now.

Don't assume they are filing. Once they file, they are essentially under contract. By not filing they retain the threat of an offer sheet.

How about:

Wolski, EC, Bourque, 1st and a 4th in next years draft, for Ladd. Is that overpaying or underpaying?

Underpaying. Wolski doesnt have much value, EC has no value what so ever, Bourque is small, had concussions and is probably a longshot to make it to NHL, 1st will probably be a late 1st (around #20 maybe) and 4th rounder is a 4th rounder.

I'm never good with proposals but perhaps something like next year's 1st, another pick (2nd maybe), Kreider + another good prospect (probably not a D-man). Ladd is what, 25-26 years old, he'd look good on top line with Gabby and Richards and we keep the Pack Line together.
