Who will be the whipping boy next season? 2011/2012

So, who is going to be the whipping boy for next season? GM Sherman seems to be running with the title right now, but I am sure Coach Sacco is not very far behind.

As for players, my vote will be Varlamov/ Giguere/ Hejda.
Some Columbus fans said that Hejda is so SLOW...

pS: For somewhat reason, I can't add polls into this.

Can Mods help? Poll option: Sherman, Sacco, Varlamov, Hejda, Hunwick, Johnson, Stastny.

it's gonna be varlamov!

so many people are so mad at what he cost, tie that in with some early leg injuries and he's gonna get the whip.

and i am a huge varly fan, i can just see him getting the business

Hunwick. He will be featured as the puck mover early on in an attempt to show the trade from Boston was not a bad one. He will fail to be even a poor man's Liles. The hate will rage.

I am so tempted to start new thread in the main forum: CAPS ROBS AVS!!
So, all haters can go there and I know which thread to avoid.

Seriously, we probably will miss playoff and get low draft pick, but the season has not even started yet. Give it a chance, ffs.

Varlamov... as the CAPS will be picking 1st next year, and will be missing Elliot/Budaj!

All of the above. If this team fails to make the playoffs next year, all hell will break lose on this board. People that ***** about other people *****ing will themselves start to ***** like crazy. Pure rage if the season goes like last one did.

I am really going to try not to get sucked into all of this next season, BUT the guys I see becoming scape goats:

-Hunwick (just based off of last season; some people claiming he "stole" JMLs spot on the team, blahblahblah)
-Varlamov (major assets given up to acquire him and high hopes; if he gets hurt/doesn't live up to expectations... watch out!)
-Sherman (he screwed up the team by getting rid of _________!!!!)
-Sacco (it's just... Sacco)

Mind you, all hypothetical, but I wouldn't be surprised if it went like this.

-Hunwick. Sacco will give him 20 minutes a night because no one in our supposed top 4 can really move the puck well (not like Hunwick can, but they obviously think he can), which will result in him now directly resulting in 2 goals against a game instead of his usual 1. This will persist for at least a month and probably get Sacco fired (since if Hunwick's playing 20 min a night, we're going to be bottom 5 no matter what).

-Sacco, for reasons stated above.

-Sherman if Varly gets injured within the first 2 months of the season, and/or plays poorly. The hate will rage like an inferno.

Funwick is on his own level, but I imagine any combination of EJ/Varly/Staz will draw the ire of many when we're not at our best.

Sacco and Stastny. If this team takes a nosedive next season, these two guys are the most accountable.

Sacco and Sherman. They manage the team, no doubt with input from the remaining brain trust like Billington, etc., so if this team falls apart then the onus is directly on them. I don't think it will happen but these two men are most directly accountable.

If Hunwick plays poorly then he should not be vilified, Sacco controls his ice time.
Varlamov was a known risk coming into the upcoming season.
Stastny, should he play poorly, will have no excuses.
Quincey and Cumiskey fall into similar boats as Hunwick.

Sacco, but I expect him to be fired by new years and to be replaced by someone else who will be on the hot seat.

It feels weird not saying Liles. He has been the guy for me for the last couple years. Looking forward to not watching his pathetic attempt at playing defense.

Unfortunately, we still have Hunwick.
