Awesome! That's a good deal for both sides considering what happened last weekend. I'm so leaning towards a Ladd jersey now.

Fantastic contract, especially considering the money madness of July 1.

I hope people can start relaxing a bit. As most of us have been saying, the team is in good hands, and not just for this signing. TNSE has been true to their word thus far and, in my opinion, made some solid hockey decisions.

I will admit, I was shocked to see Stewart go for nothing, but that's for another thread.

Fair price, was worried that it would be higher. Good move!

Ok but why didn't we sign Wheeler and Bogosian simultaneously? What is Chevy thinking? Too busy trying to lock up more AHLers?

Still have Wheeler and Bogo to take care of.

I admit I was skeptical, and although Ladd was an RFA unlike the other big UFA contracts that were signed, it's still a solid contract for the franchise.

I now have more faith in Chevy and what they are capable of, but let's not plan the parade route here, we still have a long way to go.

I thought this management was clearly incompetent, I'm sure they'll mis-file the paperwork so the sky can continue falling.

THIS IS TERRIBLE NEWS! What are we suppose to freakout about now!?!?!? TNSE is so out of touch with their fans, don't they know we always need to be ***** and moan about!

But actually, Great signing at a great price! Well down TNSE, hopefully this curbs someone of the baseless garbage in this forum for a bit.

Good for the team, good for Ladd. Now he can buy a mansion out by the Iceplex and settle in for the long haul.

Wpg wanted the name Jets - TNSE delivered

Thrasher fans wanted LADD - TNSE delivered

Seriously though,

It supports what we have been saying about TNSE. They don't discuss business in the media. They do things and then make an announcement if warranted or deemed necessary.

Whatever man, it's called addressing issues like depth which they are currently doing. I like a lot of those depth guys. The fact that a guy like Derek Meech even got 45+ games in two seasons in a row as a member of the Detroit Red Wings, with the depth they have is very intriguing. Also he's a fellow Winnipegger and a guy to sell to the home crowd. There is no coincidence that a Winnipegger was our first ever FA signing. This team said its culture from Day 1 would be one built of character and be a family setting. What better way dealing with a family set up by going with roots moves. Appropriate roots moves.

If you saw Mark Flood and Rick Rypien play you understand they are character guys who are good in their respective roles. Nobody is saying they'll chug big minutes up with the big team. For all we know Flood may spend 95 percent of the season with St. Johns. They aren't about signing the biggest hockey star for now. They are gaging things. Feeling things out. They are playing it smart, a Cup winner does not need to be built over night. They are going after guys who will fit and play into their system. Guys like Brad Richards and Jaromir Jagr may not have fit into our plans and probably had zero intentions of coming here regardless. Purely using those two as examples. I know right now they are unrealistic for a couple reasons. Signing star players for the hell of it is not always the best option to go. This is a new organization to them. They now have a responsibility over two teams (an NHL and AHL one). It's no longer just a Manitoba Moose team that is one third-to-half loaded with Vancouver Canuck prospects.

There are still guys available, and days ahead. I'll trust True North to do what's right because so far they have been an NHL class organization putting up great teams year in and year out at the AHL level, and they did everything necessary to bring the NHL back and have succeeded. So I am going with time well tell the story, not making premature comments in late June/early July.

Fantastic deal for both the club and player, predicted it'd be around $4M for 4 years so not far off my evaluation.

Anyway great signing for the Moose. Love Andrew Ladd, been a fan of his since his Carolina Hurricane days. I love the Canes because my second all-time favorite player wore No. 10 and 21... who would that be?

Dreger was on Oilers Lunch just now. He said when Winnipeg finalized the deal to land the franchise, Ladd flew there on his own dime (was not invited), checked out the city, building, etc and when management had a team meeting and asked if there were any questions, there weren't many questions because Ladd had already spoken to every single player on the team.
