Well, we all know Sather will go after him hard next July if he is a UFA.

I was able to trade Christensen and Avery for Stamkos, Getzlaf, and Crosby because I threatened my friend with posting his nudie pics...in the cathedral he was being wed in.
I know that's how Sather does his trades. That, or knowing the local time the GMs have for happy hour. How do you think we got McDonagh?
I apologize. The site is not loading the posts up right away, or at least I did not see that post with the sarcasm below it.
Understandable. You posted a minute after me, so you probably read it before I put the </sarcasm> post. I don't post here often (I'm more of a lurker), but I've seen some of the crazy proposals on here and can understand why one might think my post was serious.

exactly. it's been a long offseason already. the trade proposals on this board are laughable.
Those of you who think he wouldn't want to join the Rangers, an Original Six franchise with great history and now a promising offense to go along with the great young defense and Lundqvist in net, just because his dad was an Islander, really need to get your head checked out. You and the same people who think Kreider will hold out because he is a Bruins fan really make me laugh my ass off

Jaime Lannister has better hands than Brian Boyle.
If Zach Parise wants to be a NY Ranger he knows the way...
1. Take the arbitration 1 year deal
2. Reach free agency next summer
3. Have agent call Sather
Lou and Sather will never agree on a trade. Lou would need to much to justify the trade and Sather just isnt going there when the kid can walk over next summer if he wants to be here.
I want to see how Zach rebounds from last year.
Assuming he's healthy and just as awesome, I dont think the Devils can afford him after what they gave Kovy.
Not sure NYR can afford him either.
He would be a wonderful fit on LA.... The timing and the mojo could be just right for LA to sign that final piece to their puzzle.

Never really thought about his Dad and the Islanders rivalry ... man that was a long time ago....
If he signs with the Rangers it's a huge fu for giving Kovy all his money. No other way to look at it. Hes going to get offers from 20+ teams. The kid is everything thats great about hockey.

If Zach has a good year and rebounds nicely from his injury and stays injury free, be prepared to offer a minimum of 12 years at 8 mil. per year next July minimum.
I was thinking that having Parise on the left side of the most likely Richards/Gaborik line would be sick. With the current $15.9 million in cap space, and signing all of our FA exluding Prospal, Frolov, and maybe Eminger. If we then trade away Boyle to make some space, we can give an offer sheet to Parise, and besides, We dont really care about our relationship with the Devils so it does not matter. Any thoughts/Opinions???
The odds of getting Parise to sign an offer-sheet end up in a NYR Uniform are slim and none, and Slim just signed in the KHL.

I find it ironic that people were going nuts over a one-time concussion for Richards, but are slobbering over Parise despite a major knee issue last year.
I'd go very hard after him if he reaches UFA. We may have some room, I was looking over some stuff the other day. Somewhat depends on how much our RFAs get.
