It's BRUIN, not BRUINS, you add the S when you're talking about multiple players from the team or the whole team.

Knight is not happys

Like this pickup. Have wanted this player for awhile...

Let's face it, PC was looking for deals. Discount players at discount prices. Corvo, Liles types. And he got one. One that'll help.

$2.25m cap hit, not terrible for his production. And a fourth rounder is a song. That said, as far as I'm concerned the guy is a sleaze.

He'll be no worse than Kaberle was, playing on the 3rd pair. And he won't cost us $4 million.

I'm ok with this deal. It's only a 4th rounder and he only has one year left. If he doesn't fit, then he'll get the press box.

I won't question the management that just won us a Stanley Cup.

But if I were a betting man, which I often am.... I would look at it like this. With Pouliot and Corvo over Ryder and Kaberle, we save 4+ million, on top of Savard's contract in addition to the cap raise. Would make me believe we are lining up a big name winger. Maybe making space for a guy like Stamkos? Yes, it may be a pipe dream, but we do have the cash to spend and then some, now! =)

I don't see what's wrong with the Bruins picking up a d-man who scored 11 goals last season and had 40 points...

Off ice, I don't like this guy. Not one bit.

On ice, I'll go into this with an open mind, considering we got a reasonably skilled defenseman with an OK cap hit for a 4th rounder. Its an easy trade for us to win. I can't say I know much about his game though, other than his recent stats are ok.

That was like 5 years ago and has absolutely nothing to do with what kind of hockey player he is. He's younger than Kabs, has a better shot, put up almost as many points, and is cheaper. And if he doesn't work out, Kampfer is one more year experienced, PLUS all we gave up was a 4th rounder. This isn't a bad move on any level IMO.

Stop whining, he got 40 points last year and hes a UFA after this year.

Corvo at 1 year 2.75 mil >>>> Kaberle at 3 years 4.25 mil and a 4th

As long as we come a few million away (at most) from the salary cap before the opener I am happy. This gives us tons of space to mess around with.

He is pretty bad defensively. He'll play very few minutes and help on the PP thats all.
If the PP continues to stink like it was, Kampfer should be in very soon.

Yes, im ready to eat crow.

I don't mind it.. 40 points and he played almost 25 minutes a game, and quarterbacked Carolina's powerplay. Plus we needed that right shot. I say we make a trade for a winger and go to camp with out young kids, and this whole team is basically back in tact..

You have to figure Seguins improvement will at least equal what Recchi/Ryder did.

I wouldn't put any money on that if I were you. Chia is on record as thinking the cap will go down, and there are a lot of players to re-sign or replace next year. Some will have earned raises. My guess is he banks the space, and maybe goes for a big-name rental at the deadline.

Chia should (I know he and others hate this) make an offer sheet for Bogosian.

Total opposite of Kabs when it comes to shooting, he at least won't hesitate

right hand shot... good pp help

kind of a crappy defensive dman but probably not worst then karberle. very nice cap hit and off the books next year in case the cap takes a dive from the new cba

huge min guy though... 24 and 25 mins of ice the last 2 years... top 3 guy for us

its a great trade given the price paid and the contract. but not really super wonderful for on ice. we are strong enough though i think we will do just fine and leaves lots of cap room to add someone else before playoffs if necessary

well done chiarelli

So one guy that doesn't try hard enough but can score when he wants to and a defenseman who isn't really good defensively but can produce on offense sometimes.... hmmmm sounds familiar

Yeah, from a hockey standpoint that's sort of where I land too.

As for the off-ice stuff, I've always detested him for that incident. On the other hand, it was almost 10 years ago at this point, and people can change, yada yada. But still, that's a tough one to swallow. That it happened in Boston and they brought him in is slightly surprising too.

Pretty meh on this right now.
