Who is now expendable?

After the recent moves that have been made (Liles, Connolly, Franson, Lombardi) I was just wondering who you guys think is now expendable. Personally I think these players may now be traded:

Grabovski
Lupul (if someone wants him)
Komisarek (again, if someone wants him)
One of our young defenders (Gardiner/Gunnarsson)
Kadri/Colborne

Would anyone be inclined to make a deal around something like Grabovski + Kadri + Komisarek + 1st for Stastny + prospect (like Tyson Barrie?) and then making a run at Zach Parise next offseason?

I agree with everyone except Gardiner. I think the organization is very high on him.

Edit: I should probably add that this doesn't mean I think we should move them all, just if there is a deal that makes sense for our team going forward then you have to pay to get. I'd be quite content keeping all of them (except Komi of course)

Komi is definately the odd man out on D. The problem is getting rid of him. If they can get a 7th round pick or a career ECHL'er for him then we will have won that trade.

No. Komisarek is not that bad.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing how he does with another full season - in his prime he was a great d-man who'd fit in perfectly. The problem is that we now have too many...

Expendable means a player that the Leafs can do without. How did you decide that those players all fit that description?

We are actually in the position where they could trade two or three young guys where we would say 'ouch' but get a true front line stud forward back.

Times have changed.

I really, really don't think Grabovski is expendable....yet. I'd be fine with him signing again next offseason.

Unless its a big package for a better C but I doubt that option is out there.

as much as I'd be sad to see him go, I think Grabovski might be expendable if, only if, we get a n.1 center in return. With connoly, lombardi, bozak, colborne and that n.1 center at this position, i think we'd have enough depth.

could we not trade kadri or schenn?
I for once love having our own draft picks, if we trade them I will start thinking lesser of the organization

Im willing to give Komi one more season to prove his worth. Its not like his signing was out of the blue. Many considered him a legitimate top pairing D-man when he signed his contract, but the injuries have destroyed that image.

Its crazy how one minute, the Leafs are dying to get quality players on their team and the next we need to get rid of them. To me, position battles make rosters and teams better.

I agree with people that Komisarek hasn't been the best since putting on the blue and white, but he's not terrible. He's got the "Jeff Finger disease" though. He's got the big ticket and is expected to produce and hasn't.

There's just no chance for either of the 2 (Finger or Komisarek) to redeem themselves in Toronto and in a way, that sucks. And by that I mean, you don't want to throw around money and in a sense waste cap space.

Let people fight for their minutes and we'll see where the team is at the start of the season.

No one is expendable... especially with the health issues on our roster. Unless someone bigger is coming in, no one is going out.

How is their no way for Komisarek to redeem himself? He still what 2 years? 3 left? If he plays solid this year hes redeemed and no one will care (except those who dont actually watch games and just ***** about large cap hits for the sake of it).

I would consider one of Grabovski, Kadri or Colborne IF its for a top, and I mean top center. I don't really expect Lombardi to ever play again, I hope I'm wrong, but basically now you Connolly, Grabovski, Kadri, Colborne, and yes down the road, McKegg vying for 2 spots. These 4, or 5 wouldn't quite work in the bottom 6. But again, only if its a top center.

I can personally see Komisarek, Kadri, and Gunnarson getting traded. Not saying they are going to, but I wouldn't be shocked if they were.

Who is expendable? Expendable means someone we can do without. I count 6 d-men better than Komi. If we really need a 7th d-man I'm sure Lashoff would be just fine.

Everyone else on your list can stay.

I saw that too...but I was of that opinion once we got Franson....he has no place here anymore.

I don't get why players become expendable. When 2nd line talent or top 4 defensemen drip into your 3rd line and pairings it's a GOOD thing.
Unless this player makes too much green.
