This is so hard. It would be so much easier to do a "pick the Hab you dislike" poll.

It was Stevenson, Weinrich, Ribeiro, then Kovalev, now probably Gomez. I liked everyone when I was kid before that.

Desharnais' name is spelt wrong.

Anyway, I'm just going to rank the whole team sans Erik Cole, Alexei Emelin, and Peter Budaj (as they have yet to play). The Top-12 are so close to each other - I love them all. The middle group I like a lot, and I'd be on the fence about them leaving. The bottom group I could care less for.

PS. The kids who have barely played could change a lot of the course of the season.

Love Group
1. Josh Gorges
2. Tomas Plekanec
3. David Desharnais
4. Yannick Weber
5. Mike Cammalleri
6. PK Subban
7. Max Pacioretty
8. Carey Price
9. Mathieu Darche
10. Andrei Markov
11. Brian Gionta
12. Lars Eller

Like Group
13. Ryan White
14. Andreas Engqvist
15. Andrei Kostitsyn
16. Hal Gill

Meh Group
17. Jaroslav Spacek
18. Travis Moen
19. Scott Gomez

Love Gorges; think Subban is a spark we desparately need; and ELLER despite his year, is a few steps away from being many's favorite because he is "the real deal" wait and see!!

It used to be easier for me to pick a favorite (Perezhogin and Halak were clearly #1 for me in years past), but I voted Markov.

Surprised that :

-Kost gets more votes than Plekanec and Cammalleri
-Gionta gets so few votes
-Gomez parents are member of this board (he got two votes : mom and dad)

My top 10 :
1. PK for his superstar skills. He's awesome to watch play live.
2. Price : he's so calm and poise and powerful, Chuck Norris style : The puck hits him because it's scared of what could happen if it disobeys. I liked his cocky attitude in season 1, but must admit that it's good that he's grown up.
3. Markov. General Markov. When he's on his game, he's just a clone of Lidstrom IMHO. Unspectacular, but totally in control.
4. Cammalleri. The closest thing we've had in a while that resembles a steady pure scorer.
5. Plekanec all around game. Not a cry baby.
6.5 ex aequo. Gionta for his leadership and drive. Gomez for his speed and relaxed yet "in control" attitude (as opposed to Higgins and Ryder, when it started going downhill, they said that they didn't care, that's how it was in MTL.)
8. Gorges. Unspectacular. Says the right thing, does the right thing.
9. Pacioretty. The only reason he's not higher is b/c he hasn't played much yet.
10. Eric Cole. The only reason he's not higher is b/c he hasn't played yet.

I have two...........

Guy Lapointe and Roman Hamrlik

On the current roster - I don't know yet. I'm leaning toward Pleks.

It was hard. I chose Plekanec but I could just as easily named Price, Markov, Subban, or Pacioretty, and I confess a liking for Kostitsyn as well.

Too many I really like to pick a favorite. Markov, Subban, Price, Cammy, Plex, Pac, White, Gionta, Darche, Gorges, Gill, Eller, DD, Weber, and even Gomez....

Just a shame we couldn't keep the Hamr.

Also, I've always been a huge Cole fan. It wasn't an elite forward, still I got one of my three wishes this year for the FA market.

I guess you never saw him doing his thang on the point. He's actually one of the most spectacular offensive Ds, Subban just took the title now. But Markov is something to watch on the point, spino-ramas, dekes, incredible passes, rushes to the net with a quick wrister.... If Markov is unspectacular, I don't know what to make of the rest of the offensive Ds in the league, they're all boring...

Never any love in this town for Markov and he's been carrying the team on his back for almost 10 years.

Plekanec has been my favorite Hab since coming up from Hamilton. He's a player that never takes a shift off, definitely the hardest worker the Habs have.

I really doubt that both of his parents would vote for him, I think there's a better chance that Scott himself has an HF account and he threw himself a vote.

It's weird... going back, I clearly had favourites like Naslund, then Roy, and then Saku, but there isn't one particular player on this squad that I can call my "favourite". I guess it's between Plekanec, PK, Price, and Markov. Maybe even MaxPac. I really don't know. One thing is for sure, though. My favourite players tend to be among the best on the team. I'm no underdog lover, and don't get particularly invested in players that are more easily replaced in the name of improvement.

If I were to pick, it'd definitely be Markov with Subban, Price and Pacioretty close behind.

For the past two seasons I was trying to think of Pouliot as my favourite but he'd done nothing but disappoint me.
