oh man, as much as I'm looking forward to this season, I'm not so sure I'm willing to push through the only 3 months in Buffalo where the weather is fabulous.

Yeah it sucks. On one hand the summer is awesome and I don't want it to end, but on the other hand I wish the season started tomorrow. Can't win.

I don't know if this is off topic or not, or if it has already been discussed, but does anyone think Black will have the preseason games shown on television? Either way, I am pretty pumped for the return of hockey.

I've asked several times at the suggestion box if they are going to stream all the preseason games on the Sabres website. I never got a response

I kind of doubt they put any preseason games on TV, but it would be nice.

Yea, now that I think about it, I think they had 2 Sabres games on TV last season. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

I expect that they will air the preseason game on Oct 4th, that's taking place in Germany. At least, it makes reasonable sense to me that NHL Network would show that game. I just hate how there are only 2 games of the 6 in the US being played at HSBC. Not cool, NHL. Not cool at all.

USA TODAY's Kevin Allen ranks the most aggressive offseason remakes and sizes up the new players on those teams:

1. San Jose (Burns, Havlat, Handzus)

2. Buffalo

Robyn Regehr: As a shot-blocking 6-3, 228-pound shutdown defenseman with size and strength, Regehr might fill the Sabres' biggest hole. He stabilizes the defense in front of goalie Ryan Miller. Owner Terry Pegula made a personal pitch to persuade Regehr to waive his no-trade clause.

Christian Ehrhoff: The Sabres offered a 10-year contract to sign Ehrhoff, an offensive defensemen who can move the puck effectively out of the zone and play the point on the power play. In Regehr, Tyler Myers, Ehrhoff and Jordan Leopold, the Sabres have a quality top four on the blue line.

Ville Leino: The Sabres gave Leino $27 million over six seasons. They probably overpaid, but there was plenty of that going around in over the first few days of July. There's no denying that Leino's creative playmaking will make the Sabres more dangerous offensively.

3. Columbus (Carter, Wisniewski, Martinek)

4. Florida (Jovanovski, Fleischmann, Upshall, Bergenheim, Campbell, Theodore, Versteeg, Bradley, Kopecky, Goc)

5. Philadelphia (Bryzgalov, Voracek, Simmonds, Jagr, Talbot, Schenn, Lilja)

6. Washington (Vokoun, Hamrlik, Ward, Brouwer, Halpern)

7. Dallas (Ryder, Fiddler, Dvorak, Dowell, Pardy, Souray)

8. Minnesota (Setoguchi, Heatley, Powe)

9. Rangers (Richards, Rupp)

10. Toronto (Franson, Connolly, Lombardi)

Two home games would be easy to air, and maybe they could make a deal with LeafsTV(who televises ALL Leafs preseason games) for the game in Toronto...

RDS in Montreal sometimes does pre-season games...maybe they could borrow the video feed and do play-by-play from Buffalo...

Maybe Washington and Columbus will televise their games?
