I remember the first night I heard it I was like WTF IS THIS CRAP?! WANG!!!! But it has grown on me it is very different from other goal songs. I can see them trying multiple goal songs out yet again in the first half torturing us all... Yet again..
I cry FOUL! From the title I though this thread would be about the fourth line, who's gonna take faceoffs in specific spots, who's gonna lead the team in fighting majors, whos gonna make "doormat" comments to the press, etc. But this is just a goal song thread in disguise! But I'll throw in my 2 cents about the goal song anyway. Isles Junkie, xECK29x, and Turnpike Terrors all said the song "grew" on them. And its not a bad song, but a goal song should not have to "grow on you". It should hit you instantly, be readily recognizable by the masses, and evoke a visceral reaction. If a song has to "grow on you", then we should choose something else.
They will never go back to Rock And Roll Pt.2, ever.
For what its worth, I really liked Bro Hymn as the goal song while it lasted. I know some of you hated it, but it was loud, it was fast and it got the crowd going. That's what a goal song is supposed to do. And that's what our crowd did. It was the only one that "worked" since Rock And Roll Pt.2 and I wouldnt mind if they reverted to it.
I really hated this year's goal song. When i went to the games, more than half the fans at the game didn't know what the hell the words were. You can't have a discombobulated goal song, it just doesn't flow. I would love to have R&R pt 2 back, but i wouldn't mind Crowd Chant or even Bro Hymn back. Just please, a hockey goal song is supposed to be lowd and electrifying, not some nursey ryming na na na ****
