It's simply because the team hasn't released his rights. There's no reason to bother with them.

There were only two players on the team with numbers in the pluses. Milan's -26 was the worst, but Moncton still came in above .500.

The Wildcats also finished the regular season with a GD of -23. Go figure.

He was still named to the Q's All-Rookie team, which is what matters.

I didn't know where to write it, so I wrote this post here.

Dustin Tokarski' new mask -> http://www.davidarrigo.com/?p=389 Looks like a old Smith's mask.
Stammer wasn't all summer at barber and he has a little bit longer hair -> http://lockerz.com/s/132195745

Would anybody on here think that Teemu Selanne would be a good option for the top 6?? It would only be a 1 year deal. 1 year 3.5 mil??

Eric Neilson (under contract w/Norfolk) will attend Lightning training camp.

http://dailygleaner.canadaeast.com/s...rticle/1434583

The writer was sloppy, and left in a mention of Cedrick Desjardins as still being in the organization.

It's interesting which logo the league went with when they flashed all the logos in the video's intro.

The negative space has got to be why they didn't include the primary or secondary logo. Even the Capitals got their primary logo in there, and they often have it substituted by their patch.

If they had the Lightning's primary in there, it'd look like they just left a blank space towards the end. That's how much presence it has.

As for the article itself.
Quote:
For starters, there was the void left when Smith signed with Phoenix. Yzerman quickly targeted Mathieu Garon, who teamed with Roloson back in Edmonton in 2007-08 and parts of 2008-09. Garon played in 36 games with Columbus last season, going 10-14-6 with a team-low 2.72 GAA.
TB signed Garon around 1pm on July 1st. PHX signed Smith about an hour later. There could have been an agreement in principle already with Smith and Phoenix, but I didn't get that sense when I watched free agency unfold.

Quote:
...Two former Lightning players will be making their return to the team -- right wing Michel Ouellet and defenseman Richard Petiot.
A return to the team in camp, followed by demotion to the AHL.

I don't know. Small gripes I guess. I understand a writer for NHL.com couldn't say Smith sucked, and that's why Garon was signed, but when it paints an inaccurate picture, I'm inclined to see a problem.

It'll be interesting to see Shannon work his way into a top six role.

Where we're going, we won't need roles.

Call me a homer but I wouldn't be surprised if both Gilroy and Shannon have very good seasons all things considered and we will be upset when both sign Bergenheimish type contracts on July 1st. I doubt he will get significant top 6 time but Shannon has the wheels to keep up with Marty and Stammer and Gilroy is right handed. Both are attributes that should lead to points and $$$.

Preds fan (and closet Tampa fan) coming in peace. Would you all have any interest in a deal centered around Vinny and Pekka Rinne? I know you have Roli and Biron for this year, but neither of them are most likely the long term answer. You would be a terrififying team with Rinne in net along with those forwards

We would need to drop some cap space along with Rinne, but they would be the centerpieces. Which side needs to add value?

Vinny will be a member of the Lightning for the rest of his career.

But hypothetically Nashville would need to add Rinne is an impending UFA IIRC?

True, but Rinne is 2 years younger and 4 mil cheaper than Vinny

Pekka Rinne will be UFA after this season, right? How big is the chance that Rinne extend a contract with the Predators? Or he hit market next summer? SFY maybe want trade for Rinne rights after season, or pursue him on market. But there is other option - "cheaper" option. Trade for Bernier or Schneider.

If Nashville does sign Rinne I'd like to explore what the Preds want for Lindback.

I get the feeling however that they expect this season to be the last year in the minors for Tokarski. Interested to see the kid play to be honest.

Guys, do you think value is fair in this trade?

Preds receive:

Brett Connolly
Ryan Malone
1st round pick in 2012 draft

Tampa receives:

Shea Weber
