Sather is shrewd with HIS players. But Free-Agents (every year EXCEPT FOR THIS YEAR) he is a loosey-goosey and hands out contracts that would cover the national debt ten fold!


This year, I really REALLY believe Sather has a SOLID PLAN and is sticking to it. If Brad wanted more money, he wasnt getting it from the Rangers. When is the last time you heard the Rangers were hot and heavy for a free agent and just let him walk away because of money? NEVER. This year as the exception.

I am VERY VERY excited about next year and the upcoming years to come.

I was upset with Tortarella resigning but now I see why. It played PERFECTLY to get Brad Richards to sign. Now if they dont do well this upcoming season, the Rangers can fire Tort's and Brad will understand why and hopefully wont be TOO mad.

I can't really see anything wrong with this contract. He got around the figure I thought he would get.

I wished it was a 3 year deal but ..what are you gonna do. Still a great deal. Very excited.
