Brooks needs to stop with the Wolski potential buy out , if they were going to do it they would have already. They have the cap space once everyone signs so give a 25yr old kid a yr and see what happens.

It's stupid to buyout someone you can trade and get something for. Absolutely stupid.

Notice in game 1 of the playoffs Zuke played then Avery came in for him in game 2 and was the best player on the team.

Avery still has some spurts and will play. Also he is buds with Richards, lol
If Avery plays well than he can be in place of Woski. They did sign Fedotenko because he fits in so many places. The question is how good is Woski? He carries a huge salary. He only scored 12 goals last year. Does not play defense well. On the other hand Avery only scored three goals last year. He needs to show he can still put the puck in the net playing on the third line.

People are just handing spots to MDZ and zuccarello. These 2 have to earn them, something that will be quite hard for MZA as we have 13 forwards returning and no one knows prospal's status yet. Plus Hagelin and Thomas are going to push for a roster spot, zucc was pushed out of the playoff lineup for Avery, he is going to have to have a great camp to earn a 3rd line spot.

MDZ is lucky there is limited competition. Acquiring erixon cost a bit, but the trade was made with hopes he can come in and play right away on the 3rd pair. I assume that means eminger will be brought back as the 7th man. Basically it is valentenko vs MDZ for the 6th spot. MDZ is going to have to have a stellar camp as well because the starting PP QB spot isn't his to lose, it's Richards job now so MDZ is going to have to play solid defense and look like the PMD he was as a rookie. I'm going to take valentenko's physical style and stay at home game to go with Erixon as opposed to having a 3rd pair of PMD of erixon and MDZ.

Those last two spots on D are interesting. We have a lot invested in MDZ, but he flamed out spectacularly last season. I like what Eminger gave us, but I think we will look to go younger. Valentenko and Pashnin are interesting, let's see what they bring at camp.

And how about McIlrath. I heard he really opened some eyes at the prospect camp. It would be really nice to have a bruiser there, although I think Valentenko is the front runner for the 7th spot.

Can't wait!

This looks about right to me. Add Del Zotto. No Christensen or Eminger. Maybe add a forward if a good one comes available Sorted!

2011-2012 NEW YORK RANGERS

Try to do the RB proposed trade sending Christ for Fistric to Dallas. If not possible, sign a "Vet" (Eminger, Lepisto) on D. Save some cap space for deadline acquisitions.

Sign the 3 remaining RFAs (Boyle, Cally, Dubi) to somewhere close to the below supposed contracts.

Wolski, Avery & Prust are in contract years. I expect big things from all three.

Sign Vinny Prospal on a one year deal. If Kreider had signed and/or we had kept Grachev around I would have been against this. Now, I think it is the right thing to do. Pairing him with Fedotenko and Stepan on a 3rd line would bring both skill and terrific hockey sense here. Keep his minutes down early and rotate the spares (Rupp and Mitchell) in and out of the lineup. MZA might become a cap casualty for the starting roster, but I see him as an important piece as first injury callup to add offensive creativity, pending he has added a bit of strength and speed this summer. I think Mitchell is a better option as a pressbox spare. But both may very well be Whalepackers to start the year...

MDZ can (if he does not blow us away at camp) start off in Hartford and try find his game at both ends of the ice at a little lower pace. McD and/or Sauer might experience sophomore slumps and both Erixon and Valentenko are rookies - meaning there will be probable room and cause for callups on D as well, notwithstanding injuries. The guy just turned 21 (so he can now finally drink legally ) last month. I see him as a part of the future core or being traded this year. This will be a big year for him...

Gives us some nice options as callups (being waiver exempt will be a factor here) and some prorated capspace that can be mighty handy to have at the deadline to make some late acquisitions for missing pieces.

I think this is a team fighting for the 4 - 7 spot in the East. Not quite SC ready, but getting close...
