I was just thinking of some old games that i'd really like to see get a sequel. it's been too long :

Magic Carpet - i'd love to see this game resurface. i have both part 1 and 2 on the pc and really enjoyed playing them back in the day. the first Magic Carpet was one of, if not the most, advanced 3d games available when it was first released on the PC. another sequel should look and play amazingly if done properly these days.

Dungeon Keeper - pretty much everyone who tried these games out ended up loving them. this deserves another sequel more than pretty much any game i can think of. very cool and fun game.

i think both of these games were done by the developer Bullfrog ...which i think was bought and then later killed by EA.

but i think Peter Molyneux was behind both of these titles and he's now leader of Lionhead Studios, which is owned by Microsoft. maybe they could end up on the xbox and games for windows again? i guess it's probably EA that owns them, tho.

i dunno. anyway, i'd love to see them come back and get new updated versions. they were some kick ass games.

Earthbound. It had a sequel for 64 that only got canceled in North America, think it came out as something in Japan, but still.

Comix Zone. The art and fluidity of that game was the absolute peak of its era. Would love to see that done now.

Secret of Evermore. Man, this was a great RPG. The kid, and the dog, and the dialogue, and the alchemy system...

Killer Instinct. COME ON ALREADY!!

Aerobiz!

StarTropics.

And I absolutely, thoroughly, completely despised Secret of Evermore. After really enjoying Secret of Mana and then getting sold on the idea that it was supposed to be a sequel... there were many times when I'd deliberately just put the controller down in the middle of gameplay just so I could watch that ******* kid DIE.

Yeah, I was a little bitter.

Forget about it. RARE's glory days are long behind them. A new Killer Instinct would likely be yet another mediocre title from them.

Since Microsoft acquired them, they haven't really done anything. They couldn't even make a good banjo game.

Which is really upsetting. I could play Banjo for hours and hours on N64, but they haven't done anything of real value lately.

Heck, I just want to see the original GoldenEye on the Virtual Console.

The best third party game on any Nintendo console and the first successful console FPS should be there.

Legal issues be damned. Just make it happen, Nintendo.

Oh, and I also want to see new entries in the Star Fox and F-Zero franchises.

Those franchises have been MIA for too long.

Ico. It looked great on the PS2 and a new sequel should/will look sick on the Ps3.

I came here to post another game, but the more I think about it, the more I agree with you here. The original was great fun, both to watch and play.

I'd like to see a nextgen of morrowind... you know basically oblivion but without the retarded leveling system.

Other than that some of the great Koei games from the sega genesis/super nintendo era like the Aerobiz's and PTO. I'd love to see a new version of them.

This development team didn't disappear anywhere. As Stinelli said a sequel was released on PS2, Shadow of the Colossus. As well at this years E3 'Project Trico' was announced with a trailer. Or actually, it had been announced earlier, but they finally gave it a proper trailer then.

What the hell, Morrowind? There's nothing wrong with it as it is now, it's still perfectly playable and there's tons of mods available. If you're going to redo an Elderscrolls game, then do Daggerfall. With Morrowind they made the game pretty and added a much better exploration aspect, but they lost the sheer enormity Daggerfall had. Which by the way can be downloaded for free now on Bethseda, though you need to be able to set up the DOSBox.

hell yes ...i'd love to see Killer Instinct 3. that was probably my favorite fighting series. well, that along with Mortal Kombat.

another one i'd like to see come back is the Actraiser series. Actraiser 1 and 2 were released on the SNES and never seen from again. i believe it was developed by Enix ...back in the days before they became part of Squaresoft ...ie, Square Enix.

Things always get announced and sometimes they're never released. I would also like to see a prequel for Ico.
