So Price is allowed to have a bad stretch but not Halak?
The logic around here is confusing, so lets get this straight, Halak loses job to Elliot, therefore Elliot>>>>>>>>>>Halak. Price loses job to Halak, therefore Halak>>>>>>>Price. Since Elliot is>>>>>Halak and Halak>>>>>>>>Price, that would make Elliot/Halak>>>>>>>>>>>Price. Great, I think I understand now.

Since his legendary playoffs in 2010, Halak has done nothing but vindicate Gauthier's decision to keep Price. Imagine what shape the Habs would be in if Gauthier had bent to pressure from the fans and media.
Well first, let's wait to see WHEN Price will have his legendary playoffs. And then, last year, it's not like Price finished at a GAA of 1.00 and Halak at 4.00 and save percentage wise too. Yes, I know .927 and .910, there might be a world of difference....then compare the teams and all and yet, it might not be THAT disproportionate.

And the factor you don't take into consideration is that if Halak gives you Eller, what the return for Price be? And would Halak be more confortable with a Martin type of system?

This year, both guys are still under .900. And Halak have played half the game Price did.....Could be bad if he continues to have problems. But could be good if he picks it up 'cause that 5 games stretch, is a pretty small one.

Not even to mention, the goals Calgary got by him were incredibly good goals.

Pietrangelo definately cost em one, with the flub in the defensive end, with the shot going over Elliotts shoulder. The second was a scramble.

Elliott has sucked in the past, but he was on a god awful hockey team.

He was brought in a bit too early IMO by Ottawa... and was horrendously bad last year, albeit on some bad hockey teams to boot.

He was a Wisconson Badger a few short years ago, and if memory serves me correctly, was the starting goaltender to their NCAA Championship... He's got SOME pedigree. He then gave the Senators (Binghampton for One, Ottawa for the other 2) some decent performances, before ******** the bed last year.

@ 26 years old, and standing 6'3... I would be willing to bet, that Elliott just may be a contender for a starting role again some day too.

Halak was always a bit of a slow starter... Thing is about him, is that he has the ability to go absolutely unconscious (LIGHTS OUT) and not only steal games, but entire rounds of hockey. I wouldnt count him out just yet... He hasnt even lit the ember yet, and he's coming back from a relatively serioous injury... He may not be in gameshape yet... In goaltending, unfortunately that tends to show worst.

Still miss Lapierre Both of them would've been great on this team in their current roles. Lapierre's grown up a lot and Higgins seems fitter.

Good for Higgins, seems he his taking things seriously now. Getting traded 3 times in a year had to be hard on the confidence

Higgins with 2 tonight playing very well... Has 5 goals this season. Bob...we coulda had Higgins AND McDo AND about 4 extra million in cap space.
Easily your worse trade since Igilna and possibly Ribero.
Wow!

The Iginla/Nieuwendyk trade actually worked out pretty well for the Stars... but yeah, I'd take Higgins on my team any day.

Give me a break, Nieuwendyk won the Conn Smythe and the Stars won the Cup because of that trade. I can't think of a single Habs player or prospect I wouldn't trade if it guaranteed us a Cup.

It took Higgins 4 teams over 2 years to find his game again, assuming this isn't just a blip. Even if they had kept him, he would have left as a UFA by now.

Question about Wisnewski on the power play

As a suffering Blue Jacket fan this question came up on our forum. Wiz is playing on the right side on the pp thereby making it difficult to one time passes from the left. We were wondering where he set up last year?

He moved all over. Starting position was Wiz on the left Subban on the right but then Subban would move to the left. This was when JM actually used his brain and put Wiz and PK together though. Otherwise it would have been Hamrlik left Wiz right.

IIRC he began on the left side for his bombs, but PK took over on that side, getting feeds from the Wiz later in the season.

He started on the left but teams took notice and focused on him so he switched to the right and set up P.K for the bombs from the point. He would get one-time passes from Cammy or Pleks every once in a while. He still knows how to get his regular slapper through to the net as well creating rebounds.

He was pretty much a threat whenever on the ice during a PP. Regardless of position.
