You can thank California traffic and the train I hit everyday on the way home for that. I passed him and had to grab my phone for a pic after one glance
Just spent the last 2 hours trying to unclog the kitchen sink. Pulled out the garbage disposal and the pipe goin into the wall... Pulled out a softball sized chunk of black gunk from a pipe... Guess what, IT WASN'T ENOUGH! Saweet... Now I get to spend more time tomorrow trying to fix it. Woooooo!
Maybe you should try electrolysis so every time you shave it doesn't clog the drain
Do people shave/wash their facial hair down the kitchen sink??? i empty my electric shaver in the trash and call me old fashioned but I don't shave my arms or legs either thank you very much!
No no no it's from all the crap this piece of **** disposal doesn't take care of that's building up. It's pretty sick. This disposal was in production when disco was cool. Time for a new one maybe?
By the way, I just finished day two of my all fruit and vegetables liquid diet and I have to say, ive never had so much energy. Plus the drunks don't taste all that bad an that'd strangely coming from someone who hates 95% of food that is green.
Only problem, I'm extremely bloated. From what I've been told, tomorrow and the day after are going to be hell as my body 'un-bloats' I'm scared.

I have been there. Once was more than enough for me. My solution is preventive maintenance. Snake the drain every year to year and a half and it should never clog up.

Yeah I can see how that's useful. I never want to have to do that again!

Better still is not to send food down the drain. My kitchen sink (from the 50's) would get clogged all the time. Found out, once I remodeled my kitchen, that is was draining through a 1/2" hole in a 3" pipe.
Changed all the pipes and had it pressure snaked, never a problem again.

Yeah same here... The pipe is still the original and the house was built in either '61 or '62, time for an upgrade maybe? Its funny, I don't wash food down the drain but Its always little crumbs and stuff from cleaning plates off, apparently the little stuff adds up.

It does and the oils & grease build up. If you can get the pipe off, it's probably 6-8 inches, then by all means take it off and replace it and snake what you can. Rent a power snake for a couple bucks from the depot.
Also, something like this to catch as much as possible.

Yeah everyone in the family owns their own snakes so it shouldn't be a problem. And that's a good idea, I'm going to look into that for sure. Appreciate the advice
Haha is that what happens when you put oil down the drain? I use to do that until DVM yelled at me for it, I thought he just want to save the oil/grease to sell it

Sounds like someone is going to be going through the same crap I went through soon! (DVM) but yeah oil is the worst thing people put down your sink. It pretty much does to the drains what bacon does to your arteries.

Bacon makes the world a better place. Everything should come with bacon.
Update:
12 hours, 20 minutes until Carmageddon.
I suggest some of you make a trip to Costco, go home and hide.
Any field reports would be helpful.
About 10 of my old co-workers have to drive up to Santa Barbara tomorrow for an overtime job... I hope they brought some books to read while they're parked on the 101
Can you guys out west send some of that cool weather towards Texas? 14th straight day over 100... it's 103 now with 7 hours of daylight left... The city has now officially opened cooling centers... in Texas.... if that is happening here, you know it's getting serious.
