Hurt my Knee

So I played a hockey game today (tehcnically last night). I had a large bruise on my left knee already from a shot block, but today fell on it very hard. I didn't notice anything too weird but it was painful, and I finished the game.

Now, a few hours later, it's swelling and is painful when I bend it. The tissue around it feels tender and it's difficult to walk. I'm going to see a doctor tomorrow or the day after, but I'd love some peace of mind. Anybody have any similar symptoms and can give me a rough diagnosis? Any sort of short-term knee problems that cause limited mobility?

From personal experience, when you seriously hurt your knee you won't be walking at all!

I've banged up my knee pretty good playing basketball, some pretty deep bruises with similar symptoms, it was painful to walk on it, slight swelling and as a result limited mobility of the joint but nothing serious in the end.

Either way I really hope it's nothing serious, knee injuries suck big time, let us know once you've seen your doctor!

Thanks for the reply.

You say you had deep bruises (and nothing more, I hope) that caused painful walking and limited mobility? Did that clear up quickly, or linger?

I'll be at my doctors in a couple hours.

I've torn my LCL, but was able to walk, just not 'pivot' or bend the knee inwards unless I wanted to scream in agony.
