Former Pegger now living in the suburbs of Toronto
Me too. I left Winnipeg in 1973, so I never did see a Jets game. I didn't even see a game during the inaugural WHA season. Little did I know what I was missing. I'm now in Vaughan, just north of the Toronto border.

I hope the Canucks epically fail. BTW I'm in Edmonton currently. Hope to make it back to Winnipeg. Put out a few emails for a radio practicum. One in Winnipeg, the other in Ottawa this morning. Still will be faithful to the Jets.

GL with your practicum. Welcome to the world of making peanuts
Haha I was actually wondering the same thing. My guess is the Oct. 29 game vs. Illinois, since that's sandwiched between the Flyers game and the New York/New Jersey games.
I wish I could see Nebraska vs Penn State but yes, it will be vs illinois.
in october if i cant get home opener in winnipeg tickets ill fly to Chicago for the 13th against the Hawks, then take a bus to Madison 3 hours away to see Wisconsin vs Indiana. Jump around!!!
I'm just north of Dufferin+Steeles. I live in a condo next to the building where the crane collapsed. On my way to work I walked down the sidewalk, 30 or 45 minutes before the crane came down.
I could almost get to Castlemore by bus. Take the Dufferin North 105 to Centre Street and transfer to the YRT 77 bus which goes to HWY 50 + HWY 7. Another option is YRT 3 bus from Dufferin+Steeles to York U and transfer to Brampton ZUM bus.
There's definitely a crew of us in Alberta who are former Manitobans supporting the ol' home-province team.
The day they made the big official announcement, we had a "Manitoba Party" in Calgary. Played some floor hockey in Cranston, then went back to the house and drank some Fort Garry and Half Pints (Winnipeg micro-brews) and watched the Guess Who: Live From Goldeyes Park reunion DVD.
Still very much a fan of the Leafs, the Oilers and the Hawks, but there's some Manitoba pride brewin' up, for sure.
I live in Vancouver, and I am a Winnipeg Jets supporter. I will be attending the 8 March 2012 Vancouver Canucks v Winnipeg Jets game, assuming I can get a ticket when they go on sale. Sadly, that’s the only time that the Jets will be coming to Vancouver. Unless of course we meet in the Stanley Cup Finals, but there’s not much chance of that happening. How many other Jets supporters are there out there that live in Vancouver and the surrounding areas. I think it would be neat if we could get seats in the same area and form our own little cheering section.
I will be joining you July of 2012. I was born and raised in a small community just south of Winnipeg so I remember the days before they left and going to games with my Dad. Now I will be enjoying this 1st season before moving to Vancouver (or Abbotsford to be specific). Wife is from B.C. and we've spent the first 5 years of marriage here and now it's time to move to the West coast.
I'm happy with the Jets moving to the West next year we'll at least get two games in Vancouver to go to every year... but it will be hard giving up my 13 spots in a season ticket group with my buddies...
So, five years in Wpg, five years in Abbotsford, five years in Wpg, five years in Abby, etc.
hahaha, I guess we'll see... now that the Jets are back I'll see if I can lobby for a 6th year in Winnipeg but that might be pushing it. Got a great teaching gig here so it will be tough to leave but I do feel bad that she has been away from family for so long.
I guess we'll see what happens. Right now the master plan is Abby for 2 or 3 years, Zambia for 1 or 2 and then settle down in the Okanagan. Maybe come back to Winnipeg for last couple of years before retirement
Born and raised in Manitoba. Split time between Northern Manitoba and Wpg. Live in Edmonton area now because my career and wife are from Alberta. Miss Manitoba because of family and the lake life. Thrilled the jets are back!
Pretty sure we have another guy here too who's from Atlanta and a former Winnipegger. Do you come up here to visit family at all? Be good to take in a few games.
Lived in Atlanta until recently and moved to Seattle. I will root for the Thrasher-Jets, and will also try to make it up to the one game in Vancouver this coming season if tickets are available and not insanely priced (that is, insane relative to Vancouver's already insane normal prices). Looking forward to realignment so I can make it to more games. Kane and Toby are great. Buff is fun to watch. Interested in seeing how Burmi develops. Winnipeggers, take care of our boys.
