Jackson has been amazing to start. He's not striking out like last year and is REALLY making the opposing pitchers work when he's at bat. If he keeps on getting on base it's going to mean lots and lots of RBIs for Cabby and Prince. Keep it up, Tiggers!
That young pitcher for the rays had the tigers number, as soon as he went out the flood gates opened, including a Laird RBI.
Cabrera hurt his wrist, then puts one off the wall a couple pitches later. Had he not hurt his wrist it woulda been outta the park. This tigers team looks very legit so far this season
And they're doing it against the East to start the season. I like it, seems to make a statement early that they're serious and in it. I'm really looking forward to the series with Texas later this month.

Kept hearing about him working on his hitting over the winter. It looks like it's paid off. He's not just hitting the ball better, he's hitting the ball hard.
It's gonna get rocky when we get to Smyly and Wilk, but if they just score 13 runs a game they should be able to win a few of those guys' starts. Good game by Porcello.
I kinda feel like they're going to go on a mini-bender when Inge comes back, because he's cursed...
NFL draft tonight ladies and gents.. Apparently the lions are looking to trade up to around 10 and get either Gilmore or Barron. Landing one of them would turn them into an instant super bowl contender. Gilmore is a corner and Barron is the top ranked safety in the draft
Losing 3-of-4 to Texas wasn't good but it was understandable because they are curb-stomping fools right now. Getting swept by Seattle at the Copa is another story...an unacceptable result.
This team's situational hitting is subpar. They are one of the worst teams in swinging at the first pitch. You bring in Avila to pinch hit with two on and what does he do? Swings at the first pitch and ends the game with a twin-killing. It's early but this team is showing a lot of signs of still being a flawed team.
guys need to swing the bat better, but it's only April. I have to believe that The middle of our order (Cabby-Fielder-Peralta-Avila) will come around, and the rest of the guys will follow suit.
I've never liked that comparison...only the polarizing nature of the players amongst the fans is probably the only similarity. Osgood was far better a goalie than Inge was a ballplayer.
Curious to see what this Eldred guy can do...leading the IL in basically every major offensive category.
This is a team that many picked to win the World Series, and everyone picked to win the Central. I'm not even sure they'll make the playoffs at this point. Baseball is a looooooong season, and a lot can change, but boy do they have some question marks and major weaknesses. Can Fister get healthy and be effective? And even if he can, will we have a third starter this year that can win on at least a semi-consistent basis? Drew Smyly? How long before this lineup demonstrates they are worth their price tag? Over/under on the AL MVP going to Brad Eldred?

If they were in the AL West or AL East, I'd also wonder if they have a chance at the playoffs... but they play in Central, which will be epically bad this season. They definitely have a terrible defense and some pitching question marks (think ground-ball pitcher Porcello is hating having Cabby and Fielder at the corners?), but their softball team offense will kick in and they'll comfortably win the division b/c the competition sucks. They just need to have their key guys stay healthy for the most part, which would involve Miggy NOT fielding ground balls w/ his face (not fundamentally sound technique, but f***ing hilarious). I seriously doubt they'll make the WS, but I'll give them the Central.
I have a feeling this guy is going to be out of a job in the near future. I wonder if there is a clause in the contract about behavior - Tigers might be able to can the deal and not pay him for breaking the contract.
Remember the good old days w/ Delmon??? Before the season, if we were to play the always popular "Guess the Tiger player most likely to commit a hate crime" game, I'd have bet the house on Young- he's always been a head case.
