In town tomorrow night from Providence, Rhode Island to see the Armada play Rouyn. It would be great to meet up with some of the locals on the board! Section 114 B-15 and B-16. First of many Armada games...pretty stoked!
NYI have sent Kirill Kabanov to the Armada, so that leaves them with 3 Europeans.
With them just bringing Viktor Hertzberg back from Sweden, it's fairly certain that Ilya Nikolaev will be released. It's too bad for the 17 year old, he is a decent young player, I really liked his vision on the ice, and his hockey sense. He was smart with the puck and covered well in the defensive zone. Maybe he'll get a chance to come back next year when Kabanov and Hertzberg move on to the pros.
Either way, adding Hertzberg and Kabanov in a 2 week span really gives the offense a boost and with Marcoux on the verge of coming back (has been practicing hard the last few days, and looking good), as they say, ***** just got real! lol
Marcoux will not be back until at least late October, early November.
And I think Kabanov will be traded. Nikolaev should stay. He's using this season to adjust to the N-A game, next year he'll be 18, he should have a fairly solid season. Then at 19 he could be dominant, right when the Armada should be competitive again.
We've already gotten a 1st round pick for Roussel, the sell has started. Imagine what Narbonne, Ouellet, Kabanov, Tanguy, etc can get us.
I have tried to ask on twitter and facebook, and looked on youtube. Tried to go on the website, but can not read french. Anyway, lol does anyone know the goal song for the Armada?
I'm going to be at the game in Boisbriand on Friday, and I noticed the same oddity that I did in Rouyn-Noranda while booking tickets.
The seats are in a U shape. Why doesn't the home team shoot twice at the base of the U (i.e. where there are more seats), rather than towards the top of the U? We're sitting at the top of the U, and I just find it strange that we'll be sitting down at our end in the first and third.

All but. The problem was that we needed four together.
Sections 100 and 118 (i.e. the two right at the end) were the only two with four seats together.
We're actually sitting in the front row, so it worked out, but I was hoping to get four in either section 112 or 106 (the two outside red sections at the base of the U).
More than anything, I find it strange that both the Huskies and the Armada would shoot at the end with fewer seats during 2/3 of the game. Why is that?

No idea, is the rink still surrounded by nothing ?
I'm going to try to go to the game against Val D'or.

I haven't a clue. Google Streetview suggests that the building doesn't even exist yet.
I'll get back to you on Saturday about that.

Always a fun team to watch. What they lack in skill, they more than make up for with hard work and perseverance. We beat them 5-3 last night, and twice this season they just about came back against us in Val-d'Or. In game we went up to see, we scored an empty net goal to go up 6-2, and then Val-d'Or scored two more goals!
Have you been to a game yet? How's the view from the far end of the ice?

It's literally a brand new facility, which is why its surrounded by nothing.
I went in August to the game against Denmark, and let me tell you it was in the middle of nowhere, but you can tell that they're gonna build there. The parking wasn't finished when I went there.
The concessions were cheap but not great, it's very French there.
Nice rink, seats arent bad, I sat in the blue/grey view was good.
Now your a Piques fan living in Val D'or ?
Cause your post was a little confusing.
A friend of mine knows the coach, Marc-Andre Dumont, and I did a Q and A with him as part of a project on Junior hockey, he called me and we talked for like an hour.
He said he'd come in as a guest speaker, and that I could add him on FB, and that if I was at the game I should introduce myself.

The French issue is not anywhere near as big a deal as it usually would be, because we're going with a couple of Francophone friends of ours, however my wife and I had no issues when we went up to Val-d'Or and Rouyn-Noranda.
What's the pricing on souvenirs like? I bought exactly the same things in both Val-d'Or and Rouyn-Noranda when we went up there (2 pucks, a mini stick, and a t-shirt) and it was $10 cheaper in Rouyn for some reason.

No, I live in Ottawa, but we went up there in November to see a couple of road games.
Sorry for the confusion - I wrote that with the fact that I have my location beside my post in mind. We also listen to the road games on the radio (my French isn't very good, but I can follow the game reasonably well). There was another game earlier this season that we won 6-4 in Val-d'Or. We sat and listened to Gatineau eke out a win in that one. We went into the third with a 5-0 lead and just about gave it up...

Really nice guy.
Nice!
We went down to Peterborough for the 67's-Petes game earlier this month (My Wife is from Peterborough), and one of Ottawa's assistant coaches (Bobby Brooks) came over to say hi. Brooks was one of our assistant coaches when we won the Presidents Cup in 2008! We brought the same friend that we're going to Boisbriand with, and he noticed him in the crowd.
He too was a really nice guy, and I was very pleased to get a chance to see his Presidents Cup ring.
I am excited to see some new faces up front for the Armada.
Hodhod is very skilled and fast and should have the crowd standing on the edge of their seats every shift. 17 years old, part of the rebuild.
Hinse always works hard and will fit in well in our system. Plus, as a 20 years old, he should be able to produce quite a lot especially if Tanguy is traded, he should get a ton of ice time.
My prediction: Tanguy gets dealt for a young defenseman and picks, Lemieux and Clarke are shipped out for later picks.
Healthy lineup:
Pouliot Anderson Clapperton
Hodhod Paquette Hawes
Roy Hinse Laflamme
Faust Plouffe Nikolaev
+Aquin, Bergeron
