Does anyone know; Is Gare still going to be doing color for Columbus when he is not with the Sabres broadcast?

Gare hasn't worked with Columbus since the end of the 2009 season.

I love RJ but I can live without Neale. He's horrible. I miss Jimmy.

I'm hoping gare doesn't last long, he's homer awful.

who's gonna do the playoffs? I want RJ to call it when the Sabres win the cup! Hell if he doesn't want to travel, I don't see why they don't do what the Red Sox do with their spanish broadcast team, just bring them to the arena and call what they see on a monitor. Sure it isn't the same, but what would you rather hear? RJ calling what he sees on a monitor or some bum calling the live game? Me personally I'm always going with RJ.

I would bet RJ will be there when/IF the Sabres are in a Cup wining game

So he'll be there when hell freezes over? Joke. 40 years of frustration. Let's hope this is the year. Please. I want to hear that RJ call too.

It came out when they first made the announcement months ago that Jeanneret and Neale will do all playoff games.

Who thinks that RJ will cry when/ if he calls the cup winning game. The final seconds coming down, possibly his last season, in HSBC arena, fans going crazy. I probably would break down and start to cry if I was in his shoes.

No possibility about it, that would/will be RJ's last call

Lorentz was just as guilty of storytelling and overused cliches as Neale has been IMO - both add no insight whatsoever to the broadcast. If the Sabres are keen on keeping the alumni reunion going, I'd like to see Peca brought in as a color commentator / analyst. He has been well-spoken and knowledgable in every TSN segment I've seen him do and was great in the one game he filled in for Roby last season.

Of course, since Neale is buddies with RJ, I doubt Black will ever consider pushing Neale out at the risk of alienating RJ.

Nevermind crying - what I worry about, given RJ's health issues in the past, is the excitement level from a Cup-winning call being too much for him....

That's what I was thinking. RJ is taking quite a few of the road trips I wouldn't have expected him to. For example he's doing every game on their early 4 game road trip.

I like both RJ and Harry....Guess I can remember Harry back from HNIC, and he kinda grew on me...maybe an acquired taste I dunno....

anyways, glad they are back....wish it could be more...But have to respect them at their age still doing this...at least we got that many games....

One thing we have to do is have RJ here when we win a cup !

Not sure if anyone listened to the audio of Neale's interview on WGR yesterday but his pronunciation of Leino didn't inspire confidence:

LEE-ayno.

The NHL's 2011-12 national broadcast schedule is likely to be announced today, and Black said all 82 Sabres games will be televised, including both season-opening contests in Europe.

I'd bet that MSG will show the two games at HSBC as they've done in the past. RDS may have the game at Montreal. As for the rest, hard to say.

I doubt there'll be any TV coverage of the exhibition game in Germany...

I'm sure it will be streamed on NHL.com like the European exhibition games last season were.

As for our other games in Europe, the national schedule is out and both are only covered by TSN2, so hopefully they'll be simulcasted by MSG or NHL Network.
