But can't argue with the cap hit or the player. I thought he would get more, honestly, but the injury definitely brought down the value a fair bit.

Awesome, and it's a two way deal this year. Good job Shero!

So he's probably on the team this year and definitely on it next. Works for me. I like DJ.

Dustin Jeffrey will help us all cope with the loss of Max and has a HUGE potential. Kid scored some major goals for us down the stretch before getting hurt. Fluke injury too.

I know it's been asked a million times, but he still needs to clear waivers to go back down to WBS next season, right?

But either way getting him at < $600,000 at the NHL level is a good deal. I just hope his injury doesn't set him back.

It depends on if Staalkin works out.

Good, really think he can be a useful part of our bottom 6.

It was like watching a Malkin injury replay again. Jeffrey is better than Talbot, I don't know why anyone would need to "cope" with the loss of Max Talbot. The guy has been riding that Game 7 for a couple of seasons now, I wish people would let that go. I'll miss Talbot, but he is not that type of player that will make you say at some points during the season "gee, I wish we had Max Talbot still!"

I think he could be a useful part of out top 6. If he can play RW I think he can do well with Sid or Geno.

I think he would work better with Sid. DJ thinks the game so well, and has a better set of hands than Duper.

Jeffrey has even more potential than Joe Vitale. There might be one, two player-prospects in the whole league you can say that about.

Real close to what many thought he'd get. I thought he'd ink a deal identical to Letestu's.

Regardless of where Jeffrey plays, he will just be keeping Vitale's seat warm.

What are you talking about? Vitale is Italian for "versatile". He can easily convert to LW, RW and score up to 50 pts (or no less than 10 less than Kunitz). It's written in his contract. Ask around... you'll see.

Dear lord. People need to rewatch the goals he had. He's a very solid two way player who has improved his skating no doubt, but he did have quite a bit of luck on the ones he potted this past year. Saying he's a lock for 20-25 is nuts. He may not even be on the roster this upcoming season.

Good value for a Top 9 C/W prospect. He was signed to Letestu-esque deal, and rightfully so. He'll get his share of playing time this year because he's ready to make the leap. Bottom end of potential, he stays in W-B/S. Top end, he's a 50 point guy. Realistically, 30-35pt guy. And, you can never have enough of those on cheap deals.

Vitale is a L4 player. Jeffrey and Vitale are not competing.

He should still be an RFA after this contract expires too, right?

The 2-way part is irrelevant, they will not subject him to waivers. Ben Lovejoy 2.0
