OK, this is more or less ready to go. Please let me know of any errors or omissions.

I guess the first order of business would be: who am I missing, and who should I remove?

Done.

There are other guys, like Wiebe and Kerbashian, that we'll have to wait on--to see if they're brought back.

Oh, and FWIW, if anyone wants to take ownership of this thread, be my guest. You can have my tables and everything. Honestly, I already do the prospects thread, and adding this is just an ass-ton of more work for me.

Nice roster. Wonder how the lines will shake out though, I have no idea.

Also, where is Missiaen... the giant goalie guy?

I'm projecting he and Stajcer start in the ECHL. As soon as they play with Hartford, I'll add them.

So Johnson looks to be a lock for starter going in to next season?

Far from it. Grumet-Morris was the best goalie down there last year.

Talbot was the better goaltender between he and Johnson until his injury. Grumet-Morris came in as an injury replacement and played phenomenally.

It seems like every goalie comes in, has 1 great year, and then struggles after that.

Wiikman
Zaba
Johnson

Hopefully Talbot and/or Grumet-Morris can sustain their levels of play this year. Or maybe one of Stajcer or Missiaen will be the starter by the end of the year and the revolving door will continue.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Grumet-Morris is officially back yet. He was qualified an offer by his ECHL team but I don't think any action has been taken yet. Not sure.

Schoenfeld spoke to Bruce Berlet a few weeks ago

Quote:
Left wing Andrew Yogan, who had two goals and an assist in two games with the Whale after signing an ATO on April 7, and goalie Scott Stajcer are likely to be returned to their junior teams after missing most of last season because of injuries. Yogan was sidelined by offseason shoulder surgery until he signed the ATO, and Stacjer was out because of hip surgery. Stajcer returned to help Owen Sound win its first Ontario Hockey League regular-season title and a spot in the Memorial Cup. The Attack’s success earned coach and former Hartford Whalers wing Mark Reeds a promotion to an assistant with the Ottawa Senators. Attack assistant coach and former Hartford Wolf Pack defenseman Terry Virtue is the leading candidate to succeed Reeds.

Schoenfeld said right wing Jesper Fasth, a sixth-round pick in 2010, will be returning to his HV71 Jonkoping junior team in Sweden. The Rangers are still deciding whether to sign defenseman Mikhail Pashnin, a seventh-round pick in 2009.

Henrik Lundqvist and Martin Biron are ticketed for the Rangers, with Stajcer, Johnson, Cameron Talbot and Jason Missiaen trying out for the Whale. If Johnson doesn’t sign his qualifying offer, the Rangers and Whale will be looking for another goalie.

Johnson has until Friday to sign his QO. July 15.

Does he become a UFA if he doesnt sign? If so, I think we can say bye bye to Johnson

No, he doesn't become a UFA. The Rangers will still own his rights. Johnson hasn't done well enough not to sign his qualifying offer. If he wants to play professional hockey, he needs to sign. Although I doubt he will ever be called up because the Rangers actually want to play him in a NHL game.

rangers will keep his rights, but they can pull the QO and offer him less $$

If I had to guess, i'd say that the NYR office are shopping Johnson's rights in a Zaborsky-for-McCue type minor deal, to see what they can get.

With our luck we would trade him and he will become a stonewall in net and lead teams to multiple wins against the Rangers

I don't know if this is of anyone's interested, but Andreas Thuresson (acquired recently in a trade with the Preds) has signed a 1-year two-way contract at $632,500. Article doesn't state how much the AHL contract is worth, other than it's at 660,000 SEK, which is roughly $100,000.

Link (in Swedish) here

EDIT: I put it here cause, being new here and all, I didn't want to start a new thread about a player who people probably don't give a **** about but is officially a "Ranger". Doubt we'll see much of the guy in the NHL anyway.
