NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

Me and the Buffalo guy were skating to the puck, I probably touched it first. He hit me and the glass went to my head.
I came to the locker room just to make sure everything was OK with me. I’m fine.
- Artem Anisimov

I'm not here to score goals every game. It's a big bonus. I'm trying to make sure we're not scored upon when I'm out there.
- Carl Hagelin

I’ve seen Cally grow as a person. I think it means that much to him, that letter. I know when we talked at first, there were gonna be situations when he just can’t lie in the weeds when he needs to step up, when the coaches aren’t around and something needs to be straightened out in the room.
- John Tortorella

Time to make up for that brutal Thanksgiving Eve game where they were outshot 38-20.

Florida had off yesterday, but both teams are playing their 3rd game in 4 nights. This will be a tough one.

Win here will be big. Can't underestimate this new Florida team.

It's gonna be a pain with Staal and Sauer out.

Yep, these multiple games in short stretches must be killing Dan Best Bang for Buck Girardi. It's crazy how much ice-time he's taking.

Let's hope MDZ and Eminger can continue helping him out.

How are you guys seeing Lundqvist's season versus Biron's? Biron has really stepped up whilst King has been a little shaky. It'll be tough but I hope Hank gets the shutout.

Biron's the backup and get's weaker matchups. Don't get me wrong, I love him, but Hank is head and shoulders better.

Hank has been rock solid when he has to be. He's had a shaky stretch of maybe 3, possibly 4 games, but he'll be back to his usual brick wall soon.

Florida is good. No easy game at all. Gotta stop Fleiscmann & co - surprised that Deveaux did not get called up They have a solid defence too. Bring it home boys!!!

Before this season I had Florida being a surprise team but not this much of a surprise. We'll see what happens.

This is starting to look like Florida is for real. They are fast, and we all know the Rangers have been weak to fast teams for awhile. A convincing win against here would be a good place to start changing that.

The Versteeg line is on fire at present and the whole Panthers outfit can't be underestimated. Any victory will be hard fought but I think the boys will pull through tonight and we'll win but only by a single goal.

The Rangers may have trouble tonight as Florida is one of the faster teams in the NHL. I'm a little nervous about our D against them, but talent wise the Rangers are head and shoulders better than this over achieving Panthers team. There's no chance they can keep this run up they're just not that good.

I agree. Florida is fast and has some solid scorers, and the fact that this is the 2nd of back to back games doesn't help either. I think that it's just a matter of time until the 2nd and 3rd pairings start getting exploited more. They've played well as a unit thus far, but that 3rd pair, over time, looks like a pretty big leak to me.

Florida's speed will give us fits.

Need to stop Flash line as someone pointed out and have to watch the point shot from Garrison.

Would be nice to get 5 of 6 points from this three in four

At least the game is @ MSG, so Torts will be able to get McD/Girardi out against the Fleischmann/Weiss/Versteeg-line.

Wow, such a smart post. Didn't realize that. Last change is going to be huge in tonights game.

Hopefully Hagelin will help out against Florida's speed.

Hi guys! Former blue seater who relocated in 95 ( after I could die in peace :-; )and has been a panther sth since.

you guys have the right idea above; shut down the flash mob line and you likely win. The line is on fire all year, not unsimiliar to the GAG LINE when I was a kid in queens.

Those interested come on our board you'll see some cool pix of the panthers practicing at central park yesterday.

I hate these games cause I love both teams..l in any event good luck tonight !

This could be a really big game for our team. Unfortunately im going to only get to see the first period continuously with something big happening tonight, but so be it.

Just win it in the first.

Was hoping this would be a 5 pm start with the Gmen on SNF tonight...such a big game for the Giants it's going to be tough to focus on the Rangers after 830...and of course, it's a 730 start tonight

Good thing on home ice tonight that the Rangers can play matchups, but the Panthers know that the Rangers played last night and I think we'll see a lot of the FLA top line out there, causing Danny G and McD to be logging some serious minutes tonight.

Stay out of the box, and play NYR hockey. This is one of those "games in hand" that we have, so let's make 2 points out of it.

I suspect it will be a little more based on fatigue from yesterday's game, but we'll see.

A lot of penalties and PPs will kill Avery's TOI, a comfortable even strength game will help it.
