Good signing. We needed a guy like that. We seemd to get pushed around and Im tired of having to look at guys like Morrow and Ott to answer the bell all the time. And Krys Barch doesnt scare anyone.

According to Cap Geek, the primary consideration is salary. With a salary of $105K or less on a two-way contract, the player is not eligible for re-call waivers. Since his AHL salary is $105K, he should not have to clear re-entry waivers.

Also according to Cap Geek, regardless of salary:

Quote:
(a) who have not been on an NHL roster for 80 or more games over the last two seasons or (b) who have not spent more than 40 games on an NHL roster in the immediately prior season, are exempt from recall waivers.
(A) He played in only 64 NHL games the last 2 seasons
(B) He played in only 19 NHL games last season.

There does not seem to be a consideration for total games played.

I could be applying something incorrectly, but it appears he is not re-entry eligible. Assuming he plays less than 40 games next season (Part B), I believe he'll even be exempt from re-entry the following season on a one-way deal (... less certain about this).

He jumped off the bench to fight Haley not Bailey. Big difference.

ok well tell me this what has wandell done for us, other then his great speed he really has no great assets to our team. i would much rather him be sent down and have vincour playin up here. and with what we have done in the off season we really dont need wandell.

Wandell or Vincour, either one. But Wandell is a couple seasons ahead of Vincour and would likely fill that 3rd or 4th line center role a lot better at this point. Both have potential but as of now if you're going to be playing one in that 3rd or 4th line role, Wandell is more seasoned. In the future, Wandell may find himself as the odd man out but for now he gets the nod. Especially over Barch. As does Godard.

You guys got an above average fighter and a great locker room guy.

You'll actually see his pranks and little things.

Crazy suits, crazy cars..etc. You'll love him.

If you think Barch is more of an asset to this team than Wandell then it's really not worth discussing.

Godard is an enforcer, pure and simple. He has no delusions about it. You won't see him making behind the back passes to no one or politely asking guys permission to fight like you'd see someone like Laraque do.

He's not a dirty player, but he's just unpredictable enough to keep the other team honest.

Love it. Unfortunately, now I'll have to see Barch here in Austin.

Another Pens fan here. As far as pure enforcers go, you don't find many better than Godard. We no longer needed him in the line-up with the emergence of Engelland, but he knows his role, performs it well, and gets on famously in the locker room.

Good signing for you guys.

No sweat. And as for my reasoning of Engelland making Godard expendable, apparently I'm full of ****, because we just signed Steve MacIntyre.

This signing paves the way for Barch to focus on his offensive game and become a true scoring threat in the NHL.

Besides being hellishly unlucky last season, the guy draws penalties like kindergarten kids draws trees. That in itself makes him useful... But he's also very reliable defensively and have lots of development potential...

barch with the big club this year and Godard next-The real question is whether you need apure enforcer rather than a dude like Wathier but not a big deal.

Or Ference? Actually, I think him and Thornton would be a fabulous tilt!

Very poorly?

Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Sending Godard after Ference is like using a shotgun to kill a fly.

I was thinking more of the frequency of tree drawing... I mean, pretty sure that's universally a fave among the kiddies... But I should have made it more clear, nice catch...

Heika thinks the Stars will now try to trade Barch. Good luck.

Also confirms that Godard isn't subject to re-entry waivers.
