The Blues need a good mixture of veterans, young talent as well as guys that need to develop. Can't win with youth. And besides, didn't Jagr just get signed? lol

If the Blues do call him up, they should do it during a road game in SJ. The crowd would be so conflicted as to who to root for. lol

After what happened last year when half our forwards went down, I'd have to say Army's putting an emphasis on forward depth

The guy doesn't project onto the roster, but this comment sounds ignorant of that fact.

This is a hard-working player to provide leadership and anchor the top line in the AHL.

Personally, I hope he's able to pull it together enough to get called up, but I really don't think the Blues lose anything if that doesn't happen. It would just be really cool to root for him in a mid-season call-up.

When will people realize Cheechoo's double hernia and subsequent surgery is what really did him in after his 56 goal season? You don't just score 56 goals and disappear. After the surgery he could barely skate let alone get open to rip one into the back of the net.

Good for Cheech!
Had the pleasure of meeting him during his 56 goal year and haven't had a better experience with a professional athlete.
Guy has never been anything but class and can only be good for the blues system.
I wish him nothing but the best.

Has he had surgery to completely repair his leg? If not he's got not shot in the NHL.

Can I have Cheechoo's agent's phone number? I think that man might be able to get me into the NHL. How he keeps doing this is mind boggling.

All the best for Cheech going forward. Class act, hope he gets another shot at the NHL, played really well last year in the A.

For a team with serious ownership issues, they just burned a truckload of money.

This is a guy who couldn't cut it in OTTAWA folks. A team desperate for anything up front.

back then we weren't so desperate up front, we had scoring....it just wasn't coming from Cheechoo.

1) The Blues are still only 4 mil above the Cap Floor and our actual payroll is at just over 49 mil.
We had to spend that much just to be Cap compliant for next year.

2) Cheechoo was signed as a replacement for Graham Mink in Peoria.
The guy was an AHL All-Star last year, and will almost certainly be put on a line with fellow All-Star's Brett Sterling and TJ Hensick giving Peoria one of the top lines in the entire AHL. The only way Cheechoo see's any time in St. Louis is if half our starting forwards are injured at the same time.

How can a guy drop sooooo much in production? From 56 to 37, to 23 then down again to 17 in 2 NHL campaign....WOW Good luck to him in St-Louis.

I feel like this has been explained about 4.5 million times on HF and about 50 times in this very thread

shame that such a great guy went down hill so fast. injuries never seem to ruin the career of matt cooke do they? they always seem to get the nice guys.

Aha, okay thanks for the info. I was wondering why the Blues would want to pay a player like that quite that much for the AHL, but that arrangement makes sense for both parties.

His knees are destroyed beyond belief is the basic answer. If he could have found openings to score goals by pushing himself into open areas before, he absolutely CANNOT get to those open spaces now.

Take it from a Sens fan who wished him the very best when he played here (still do), he's DONE.
