Betts

Do people still see him on this team next season? Personally he is one of my favorite Flyers, but with them still trying to make a move (Stamkos or Drury) I could see him being the one let go. It looks like our bottom three could be Nodl/Talbot/Shelley and one of Rinaldo or Sestito.

What are you guys thoughts on Betts returning or not? I don't know if its thread worthy or not but I was just curious if I am the only one that thinks he won't return. Though I want him to return.

Talbot doesnt really play center, and when he does, he is below average in faceoffs.

Personally, I would like to see a 4th line of Talbot-Betts-Nodl and see if a Phantom can get on that 3rd line (Wellwood/Read/Testwuide) etc etc. I like Holmstrom, but they seem to see him as a center, and a Betts replacement so I dont know if he can play wing.

We need him on the PK, and he can still be a good 4th line winger...we'd just need a 4th line center. So he probably stays at center.

If it's worth mentioning, Betts also played with Jagr in New York in 2005-06 when Jagr had his best season in a decade. They know each other well and they showed chemistry when Jagr would sometimes double shift.

Jagr always does better when he feels comfortable with the team and its players.

He is one of my favorites. It would be nice if we had at least one penalty killler from last year.

If he is dealt I would expect it is because bottom 3 guys are the only thing we have a plethora of. (sort of like why he wasn't resigned by the Rags)

Betts was a really effective player when we first signed him. But after that weird face-off draw where he dislocated his shoulder, he has never been the same.

Depends on his health. If he isn't 100%, Holmstrom will take 4-C. Holmstrom can take on the PK duties as well.

I hope Holstrom can make a push I like him he is a lot like powe. I can see this

Shelley Holstrom Sesisto

I think Nodl could be our healthy scratch player/ no need for Shelley to be in the line up.

I wouldn't look for Nodl to be a healthy scratch. He'll be ahead of all 3 players you mention above. Good chance he's even in the top 9.

If he's healthy, but from what I can glean from this whole offseason situation is that he may not be as healthy as we would like. I think there will be some guys pushing him for that fourth line spot in camp, but if he is healthy it's his.
