Desharnais is my favourite player. He was before he ever played a game with Montreal.

Agreed.

Talking about him switching his number is fine, but when it became a debate of Gomez -vs- Koivu, that's when it strayed off course.

58? 51?

What's the difference? Just another ugly hockey number.

So I'm guessing this means Palushaj will wear 22 if he's called up (his jersey # in Hamilton)

Maybe White took 15......better than 53 (although he could have his Hamilton number of 25)

I personally gave Cole # 28 in NHL 11

My only wish is that our new #51 is much bigger and tougher to play against. DD has done a fabulous job of earning his keep, too bad it is on the bottom lines on a team that needs a big meathead as opposed to an undersized playmaker.

I have been a fan of his since his first ATO. I still am. However, he just does not align with the Habs needs long term on their bottom two lines, and is not likely anywhere good enough to even think about ice time on any NHL team's top two lines.

So, glad to welcome him into the full time NHL fold. I am also hoping that others eventually fill that role with the Habs, as there is still something missing on the bottom two lines that will help this team battle long and hard in the offseason...when the games and rules change from above.

I think he looks bigger with #58. IMO, some numbers will make a player bigger (3-5-8-9) and some makes you look slimmer (1-4-7).

For example, I find that Ribeiro very skinny when he had #71 in Montreal then now (#63).

on the contrary. 58 is now more OG cause he only wore it one season. and it shows you were a big enough fan of his to get the jersey before he went on to have many awesome seasons for the habs. (or at least a big enough fan to get his old number.)

My opinion, 51 is an awful number.. for a forward, worst than 58.. but i guess if he likes it, good for him.. as for number 15 i doubt its palushaj.. since he has less seniority in the organisation, halpern? I hope not, or the oranisation is dumb... so it "must" be Cole...

But we'll see... i think number 15 would have been cool for him.. but thaz life.

Who cares if he looked bigger with 51, he'll still look 5'8" to his opponents on the ice lol

Gomez should follow suit with changing numbers.

Hahah, I'd have to get a third name on my white vintage. Who cares if Cole doesn't wear an A? Would still be better than Komisarek and now Recchi
