OK, obviously Konopka won't replace Spezza in that spot.

1. relax
2. i dont think it burns a year off cause of his age
3. what wolves? Now is when mistakes can be made by these young guys

Same situation as Rundblad last year.

I don't consider it throwing the kid to the wolves though, as he could get a real chance at cracking the lineup on a rebuilding young team and get valuable NHL experience. Even on a crappy team, the experience he could get wouldn't be lost.

In this type of situation, I'd put my faith in management to make the right choice. They got more information than we do, and are better positioned to assess if he's ready or not for the big show.

Can't wait for training camp!

Great signing. Why does everyone think he will play in NHL next year?

Spezza on the right wing. If you're right about that then 2012 must truly be happening.

Glad he's signed but it could get pretty crowded in Ottawa if he does make the team. Someone else might need to be moved.

So will Zibby goto Binghamton if he gets cut, and take the Karlsson route?

P.S. I like the "Zibby" nickname.

No, it's NHL or Sweden because of his Swedish contract.

Obviously Spezza plays much better as a winger on the 3rd line than he does at his natural position on the first...................

Wouldnt want Alfie on the first line either. His minutes needs to get reduced

As per the CBA:
Quote:
For players who sign at age 18, their contract slides forward an additional year if they don’t play in at least 10 NHL games. Additionally, if a player decides to withhold his services (except in case of injury) his entry level deal slides forward another year.
So as long as Zibby Zop doesn't hit that 10 game mark, his 3-year ELC slides a year. No risk.

Mika Zibanejad is ready for three seasons in the Ottawa Senators.

Unfortunately, all of Djurgården fans - Mika Zibanejad is ready for three seasons in the Ottawa Senators.

According to sources Sportbladet he maxlön - who can give him 35 million if all bonuses come true.

- It's just unreal, says Zibanejad allegedly trying to take a seat in Ottawa already coming season.

Mika Zibanejad, 18, did this past season success in the Royal Canal. He was drafted in the first round at number six overall by the Ottawa Senators.

Zibanejad has impressed during the club's camp and now he is awarded with a dream contract.
Shall break into

According to sources Sportbladet he maxlön for a rookie, that means an annual salary of 925,000 dollars, which represents more than 5.7 million. If all the bonuses go up, he can during his three years in the Senators serve over 35 million.

According to information would Zibanejad trying to break into the NHL next season already, but the place he moves his home to the Royal Canal.
"We'll see what happens"

When Sportbladet reaches 18-year-old on a crackly phone line, he is of course pleased.

- I do not know what to say, but it just feels unreal. Really funny.

How it felt during camp?

- This felt good. I have not played hockey in a long time but it has gone well.

What has Ottawa told you?

- They have not said much. We should have a discussion later on. But now we have signed a contract and that's a sign that they believe in me.
The last part kind of stood out to me.

Quote:
What about next season? Will you go over to Ottawa?

- We'll see about that.
What ever you may think, he's not the solution to all our problems.

Edit: lol Djurgården = Royal Canal.

Throughout history, Ottawa Senators HFboards posters continue to get more gullible day after day....

Like those line I suggested are really gonna happen. Yes, Dacosta our 1st line centre, no Filatov, Spezza to the 3rd line, Michalek on the 4th.

Is this true if he plays next year in SWE? Doesn't Rundblad only have 2 years left on his ELC?
