Not like they are worth much anyway.

I like it. We needed this sort of depth last year.

Ask someone to get their facts straight and then contend that some ludicrous conspiracy against the Canucks has merit? Well played sir...well played...

I wouldn't worry what some of the VAN fans are saying-- our experience was more recent and nothing like theirs.
Yeah, moreso than the penalties, the thing that made me tear my hair out with O'Brien was that he thought he was some kind of top-end defenseman, and that he just wasn't getting a fair shake.

You're basically paid to be a big slow oaf that keeps it simple and looks mean, you idiot. Be happy with your 1.whatever million dollars and just do your ****ing job.

Apparently this has at least started to dawn on him. Finally.

He's obviously not a top-end defenseman but he might be right about not getting a "fair shake". It wouldn't be the only time that has happened with Vigneault as coach. Just look at the Ballard situation from this past year. I also read an article on The Province about Hodgson possibly needing a change because of Vigneault. I think it might be too early for that but it could be headed in that direction if Vigneault continues to sit guys who are clearly better than the ones who are playing. Eg)Alberts, Rome, Tanev, Glass, Oreskovich, etc.

Good for the Av's. I wanted the Preds to re-sign him but there's just too much talent I guess.

Good depth signing. Seems like the Avs are signing a lot of people who could be described as having great characters and bring a good attitude. At least that what I've been reading about the last few signings.

I doubt any Vancouver fan would list SOB in that category. Even though we had no known issues in Nashville with the guy, I don't know about good attitude.

Well, iwas more speaking of the recent signings in general, which it fits much better, but from what iveread of people who aren't just here to bash, it sounds like a good veteran precense.

For one of the most injured teams last year, sherman has added lots of depth at every position. He's having a much better off-season than last year when he pretty much sat on his hands.

Interesting, he's a decent 6/7 guy at best, but there's no way you want him in your top 4. He, at times, can take the most ******** penalties, also his offense is none existent. I know he was better in Nashville, but he had major attitude and party issues in Vancouver. Not sure what the party scene is like in Colorado...Also to the guy slagging kesler, straight up lol. Watch the youtube clip of dekeing through Obrien and Weber, uh yea....hahaha

It's Not like we need him to play in the top 4..
He's a decent guy to play #5/#6 and that's what we expect him to do

And this whole party thing is just getting boring, guys.

That's a fine price for him. Someone's gotta be getting shipped out of Colorado now. I'd say it could be a defenseman but the Avalanche has an abundance of forwards as well. My gut says Cumiskey, Quincey, and/or Yip are being shopped.
I think this means they're not going to sign Cumiskey

Wait, that was going to happen anyways.
Yeah, now he'll score 95 percent of his goals against non playoff teams, instead of the 90 percent he scored last year. YEAH!

Beats having to play Shawn Belle or David Liffiton when injuries hit.

Shawn Belle? That guy is still around. I guess S.O.B. is a better option than that.

From a Preds writer:
"Lost in all the hubub last night was the signing of Shane O`Brien with the Colorado Avalanche. SOB really won me over during the course of the season, and besides being a solid physical presence and excellent penalty killer, there's an element that will be missing in the locker room going forward. I think I can best sum it up with an*old beer-league anecdote I shared over at Pension Plan Puppets recently*- SOB reminds me of my old teammate Steve."

Not sure what that means, exactly, but I'm happy about the "excellent penalty killer" part.

What improvements have the Devils make?

Oh,that's right...none. With the exception of drafting Larsson. Then again, they might lose Parise.

But its ok, keep dreaming that Kovalchuk alone will carry the Devils to the playoffs
