That's how I feel. I'd love to finally see what the fuss about Sammy is. I think he's ok, but if he was in fact a potential favorite for the Conn Smythe until Neidermeier (I know I didn't spell that right, but I'm on my phone so sue me) won it, as so many Ducks fans have claimed, I'd love to see why.

Good find, Pete. Very informative, and a not inappropriate level of humor.

I'll be interested in hearing him speak about his plans. He's a very wealthy person with a lot going on outside hockey. It wouldn't shock me if he retired. As far as the Jackets are concerned, even if he wants to come back, has a rapid recovery (4 months), it's hard for me to believe he will return to top six form in less than 8 months. We probably weren't going to sign him next year and to other teams he will forever be the epitome of damaged goods so a trade deadline deal for anything but low to medium pick probably isn't in the cards.

I'm sorry I used the OP to intro that link, leek, because Zack had explained his use of that word and backed off it way back in the early pages of the thread. I should have been more careful.

any guesses as to what time frame this gives us for a return to the lineup?

So based on him returning to the ice today and the timeline posted on the injury from an above link, is he still 2 months away from playing?

The first four weeks: The patient has to stay in a sling and isn’t allowed to bear weight or move their arm in any of the ways the NCAA refs are showing us above.
Weeks four to six: Simple range of motion exercises start – they’re allowed to move the arm, but not to lift it up or twist it away from the body, as these movements put too much stress on the tendon.
Six weeks post-op: The sling comes off and all range of motion is permitted.
Eight weeks post-op: Isometric training begins – no weights, just contraction of the muscles by pushing or pulling a fixed object. I’m bored just thinking about it.
Three months post-op: Light resistance training begins.
Four months: Heavy training begins.
Six months: Full activity resumes.

I would think he's 4-6 weeks from playing. I found it funny that AP said he was unable to take slap shots yet due to range of motion. My question is when did he ever have the ability to take a slot shot.

CBJ office is checking with league to get approval for Juice to wear red, "no contact" jersey in games.

For the record, we went back to the same medical / injury expert who did the first breakdown for us, and she's thinking at least another 4-6 weeks before Juice is cleared for contact:

According to AP Juice will be playing again in two weeks

#CBJ LW Kristian Huselius (torn pectoral) is still wearing a red sweater, but told he should be playing in two weeks.

I'm not the biggest of Juice fans, but it'll be nice to get him back in the lineup.

He may be the piece needed to get Carter and Nash going on the top line. That also allows the second line of Prospal/Letestu/Johansen to stay together. No, this doesn't solve the defensive or goaltending problems, but it may help with the goal scoring problems. Every little bit helps.

Follow up to Pete...

Make Umberger - Pahlsson - Vermette the checking line. Then we won't expect them to be scoring.

Could be traded (or someone else) for D or goalie.

This is just going to further push Brass down the depth chart. Not sure if we can get fair market value for him, but he needs to be moved for help on the back end ASAP.

Also, Prospal and Huselious should not be competing for ice time (yet); due to Prospals production.

Right idea, but trade Derek "Stupid Penalty at the Worst Time" Dorsett instead.

I wish Brass a team where he could fill his potential but Columbus is not this team anymore. Maybe Calgary or Carolina, Karlsson plus something could be a good value for Brassard. I do not know how is the situation in the net of Calgary whether they have another backup.

Interesting stat since you are on the dump on Dorse for bad or untimely penalties campaign. Dorse is ranked 99th with 5 minor penalties. He's tied with Wiz.

This is beginning to feel a little like global cooling, no warming, no climate change.

I'm not terribly happy with Dorse's overall play, but his penalties seem to be fairly down on my list of things to worry about right now.

Back to Juice, hopefully he adds some production to a need that really needs it. Plenty of time to consider moving him around the deadline.

I do not understand why Dorsett plays so much for his qualities... Boll is IMO better and he has more scoring chances, better checker, better player in the front of the net, he could be a good third line winger do not do from him fighter.
