You spelled Aulie wrong, but probably him. Aulie has handled himself quite well in plenty of AHL fights, and looked fine in his few NHL fights too, he knows how to throw em. Myers is big but doesn't really fight.

Myers went from I think 205ish in his rookie season to being listed at 227 lbs last year so....who knows. Also, he was a lot nastier last year compared to his rookie season where he just used stick/positioning.

There was one fight Aulie had against a pretty tough guy I think and he won if I remember right towards the last third of this season.

EDIT: Ah this is the one:

You clearly don't know a damn thing about Myers if you think he's a goon. Nicest guy in the NHL. Now Chara, that's a goon.

That poster was being sarcastic.

Anyways, I'm going to go with Aulie here.

Well, I'm not sure anymore, this video popped up on the Sabres boards, and a few fans were calling him a goon and immature. It really pisses me off considering everything I've read and seen about Tyler has given me the impression that he is a terrific kid. I don't even remember how many times I've talked to him and each time he's been a stand up individual.

I'd like to see Myers you know, actually record an NHL fight before passing judgement. He'd be one of the few with a reach advantage on Aulie, and a brief bit of youtubing shows that's one of Aulie's biggest strengths.

That isn't to say the young Leaf can't scrap or anything, cause he can clearly chuck 'em, but Myers went from being a twig to landing a pretty big hit a night by the end of the season and I could see him developing a pretty decent fight game, especially if his playoff mean streak carries into his offseason training/next season in general.

I liked what I saw in the playoffs from Myers, he got in Pronger's face at one point and showed no fear at all. For that reason I'm very interested to see him fight, and will reserve judgement until I do.

Do you remember what game that was?

Edit- it has to be game 6 or 7, I just can't find a video of it anywhere and really don't wanna watch either game again.

More Aulie

Myers doesn't really fight, so I don't even know why this is a question.

Right now, I would have to go with Aulie, because Myers doesn't fight.... yet

But if/when he does drop him, his natural reach and size will definately make him tough to fight, and he could end up beating Aulie.

Myers' strength is really underrated here. Just watch game 4 of this past year where he drags mike richards and the linesmen from the goalies net to the faceoff dot like it was nothing. If the kid gets up to 240 ish he is going to be a monster.

He already is a better skater than Chara which is really going to make him a better hitter.

I just want to see him throw the knucks just once.

The fights on Youtube of Aulie. He seems to use his reach really well and but keeps his head straight up and throws. Him and Myers would have a good little tilt. Both big guys, with long reach.

But, i would love to see them on the same pairing; again.
Its completely wishful thinking (for Aulie), but would be cool to see them paired up in the Olympics....like they were for the Jrs.

I'm not sure why Calgary let him go, but defencemen that can skate, fight, are 6'5 that can play in the top 4 D are rare. He's probably the best fighter on the Leafs D, can handle himself better than Schenn.
