I wouldn't mind adding Bernier to fill bottom six RW'ers if he'll sign for less than a mil (ie. between 750k to 900k would be perfect amount) would be a better option imo than Victor Oreskovich as Bernier has more skill than Oreskovich.

Brad Winchester @ 6'5" 230lbs sounds good to me

Winchester - Lappy - Oreskovich

is a big line with speed, grit, size, ability to hit and finally someone who will drop the gloves

I strongly disagree with that. Oreskovich is bigger, faster and hits harder. If Oreo is given a sliver of the chances Bernier was given he could pot at least as many as Bernier did. How quick you forget the absolute stone hands Bernier has and the many many many missed open net shots and pucks that would just flubber off his stick

not my first choice but as for guys who are actually available at least he has size and can fight fairly well. I'd rather have a prust, Rupp, Neil...heck even Simmonds or something but Winchester is a good choice for the slim pickings left.

Wouldn't mind Grier for a year. Defensively responsible and quite durable for 36 years of age ( 70+ games in his 5 of the last 6 seasons) Always liked his style of play.

Wincester was my choice, however I like Chris Clark as well - I think he would also be a good fit on the 4th line (if the salary made sense).

Winchester. Though I wouldn't mind Clark, either.

Grier isn't the same player anymore. Ask buffalo fans.

Move a pick or prospect to Ottawa for Zach Smith. The Senators have an abundance of bottom 6 forwards and Smith would bring some size, toughness and physicality to the 4th line. He also has some upside and the ability to hopefully chip in close to 10 goals - something that should be a must for any potential 4th liners IMO.

Chris Neil would be a nice player to add but his salary is too high for his role. Would only be interested if it was basically a salary dump on the Sens part...

How the hell is Steve Bernier on that list?

And nobody on that list really turns my crank.

I said this on another thread, and as much as I recognize that it is unlikely, I'd really like to pry David Backes lose from St Louis. He can play right wing and center, he's big, he'd tough and can put the puck in the net. Have to make a quality offer that made sense to St Louis, of course, who once again have playoff ambitions.

Winchester out of guys on the list, but I voted 'other' with Byron Bitz in mind. I saw him in some Bruins games throughout the year and thought he was pretty good. He also got two goals in one game, so there's at least a trace of offense to go with that size. Plus, member of the All-Name team.

That's the problem. The players St. Louis will be looking for in return aren't the type of guys you deal when you're trying to win the cup. Though towards the deadline there might be something there.

In the end, I think the Blues will do everything in their power to keep Backes. T.J. Oshie on the other hand might be a possibility. Oshie, like Backes would be the perfect fit for the 2nd line. A bull on skates that likes to make plays.

Take over Cody Bass' developement, now and he'll be ready for January.

I voted Winchester.

I wanted O'Brien back. Or Konopka.

I am not entirely sure Gillis is going to add size or grit. Unless Ebbett turns out to be a man possessed?

Neil is great but makes wayyyy to much at 2m per. Rupp isn't really a fighter but the man is huge, he hits often and hard and signed for a reasonable amount.

Let's be real here there's nothing we could really offer the Blues to pry Backes out of their hands. Maybe a ridicules over payment that doesn't make sense like Schnieder + blue chip prospect + 1st

as it sits right now Winchester is our guy as long as he comes cheap.

if I were MG I wouldn't be shy to offer up hansen, Schneids and a 1st for Backes. I know it's a lot but considering how much a guy like Backes would flourish on our team would far outweigh losing Schnieds and Hansen
