Craigs List TSN That's Hockey, Top 3 Habs prospects.

Quick breakdown on the Habs top 3 prospects. As shown on TSN that's Hockey July 14th by Craig Button .

#3 Beaulieu, Compares to Jack Johnson & Sydor.
#2 Leblanc... scoring, speed.
#1 Tinordi, blend of skill and power, like his dad give him time to emerge. Craig believes he's already devolping faster than his Dad.

Tinordi was 1st, Beaulieu was 3rd I believe.

It's obvious Button is extremely high on Tinordi. And with good reason. Kid could be a beast if you forget about offensive numbers.

Jarred was 1st. Button read the list 3-1.

If Tinordi plays like his dad didthat would be a great use of the assets used for him. Solid Dman that would run thru a brick wall for his team....OH YEAH!

If he is better than his dad...AWESOME!

Gotta love the Daryl Sydor comparaison. That guy was tough as nail and a good points producer.

I'm really excited about having a defence that would look like this in a few years (say, five, when Markov is declining):

Gorges - Subban
Emelin - Beaulieu
Tinordi - Weber

Skills, guts, size...

Tinordi has impressed me a lot since we drafted him. I don't follow his junior team, but the guy is solid @ training camp. His defensive game is almost NHL caliber already and he plays a ******** of minutes....couldn't care less about his offensive contribution when he becomes a top pairing stay at home dman.

Sydor was not tough in any way at all. He was a decent puck mover but was a little on the soft side.

All these folks on HF whine about how we never address size and toughness.

Tinordi is a tough guy who is huge eats up minutes and could be a top pairing stay at home D. But because he doesn't produce offensively people often talk like he's a bust. Button is really high on him even a bit too high I'll admit, but this guy addresses a huge need for us.

In terms of need he is #1. A big physical nasty d who can fight.

Look at this the game is ****ing over.... and they won... and look...

He's everything half the "toughness" crowd fap to every night

Also here he doesn't win the fight:

But why did he fight in the first place? Yeah exactly... But let's all just hold onto that bs notion that Gauthier, Gainey and Timmins aren't addressing the need of toughness

And I guess this guy is just a ****** ass ***** too right?:

I have to admit though this video does make him look like Markov :

I'd say Sydor was pretty tough

Button is an idiot.........I like Tinordi more than most on these boards but it has already been pointed out that Button is friends with the Tinordi family.

Button only got a gig in the big show because of his father.........his future is with the likes of Doug MacLean, Bill Watters and Mike Milbury.

Leblanc and Beaulieu are on top of most lists here as the top prospect. A case could be made for either of them depending on your need for a forward or a d.

Where Button's list differs greatly from most lists is his evaluation of Tinordi which he's extremely bullish about. I find it hard to project how those huge defensive ds stack up a few years in the future. I guess time will tell.

Maybe true, but if TSN is going to broadcast it Nationwide, then we gotta talk about it! But no matter what order, it's a good top 3 list(A no brainer) but I like the comparisons, comparing our future guys to other successful ones is always fresh & interesting!

Reminds me a little of 10 years ago being stoked about Hainsey and Komisarek, hopefully they pan out differently for the Habs though, obviously.

Well to be fair in 2007-2008 Komisarek was a top defenseman in the league and lead the NHL in pretty much every defensive stats (shutblocks, PK time, hits). He was in the elite when it comes to shutdown defenseman. It's not our fault that he came down to earth after being paired with somebody else than Markov.

I think he came down to earth after Lucy whopped his arse & the brain damage result was that life may be better in Toronto. Everybody lost, but he was solid before that & turning his back on the Habs after them letting him suit up & pump up the guys on the bench as a sorta (asst coach) is un-forgivable.

Like I said never mind the order, but these guys are our top 3. Montreal hasn't had these kinda prospects & throw in Price & Subban since the 70's when we were cheating, by stealing the Q portion of the draft!

Good Times Coming!

I haven't seen that often. And you take people seriously when they say a prospect is a bust after 1 season?

The point isn't whether or not I take it seriously, the point is that a lot of people are always ragging on our management when they do a damn good job with what they're given and the situation at hand. They tried to address the toughness in the past but have had some pretty bad luck. I remember when we signed Laraque people were thrilled and look how it turned out.

People must think playing in Montreal is like heaven. For a Montreal born player it can be. For a lot of others it's a total nightmare. Gainey and Gauthier have made due with what they've been given. Sorry but anyone who thinks we could have tanked and gotten Crosby and/or should have pulled picks out of our ass like Detroit and won a cup... these people are just living in lala land.

Just because a couple teams have won the 649 of drafting (late pick equating to a superstar) it doesn't mean because we haven't our management is doing a bad job. And it certainly doesn't mean they haven't made an effort to address the toughness issue in the past and present. We also don't know the kinds of offers players rejected from us to go to different teams for less just based on other reasoning. People just seem to automatically assume they either suck, don't care or don't try.
