A pile of poop can look amazing in a Habs jersey so I don't know what your point is.

Number kind of threw me off, if anyone predicted 72: Give that man the 10 000$.

Hmmm you're a cool guy and all, but try to tone down that kind of stuff. There's no place for these remarks on here.

I already have a Habs jersey without any names/numbers on it. Im thinking of turning it into a Cole jersey.

Go for it, you would be one of the 1st. + it's good to see a change at the Bell centre from all the Price, Subban, Cammalleri and Gionta jerseys

Go learn some German. Then a week or two later I'll ask you to do an interview related to German Soccer for a couple minutes. I guarantee you'll be a bit stressed too

PS: A little off-topic but I was watching some recent videos on TSN.ca They did the Doughty and Subban comparison and man I know I'm a homer but Button is a serious habs homer.

That having been said we need a guy like that on TSN cause every other anglo media outlet does nothing but bash us and our players

Looks good in the picture... but that's a football number.

Refridgerator Perry... some guy that played DT for the Redskins ... Mann or something.

Anywho I give the TML the nod over us for honouring the numbers... I think that is a better way to acknowledge your past greats. I would add emphasis to that point consdiering we have won so much and have so many guys deserving of number retiring.

Well have you heard Button go on about Jarred Tinordi before? He's 100% convinced he will be a legitimate #1 and an absolute beast.

Lol, you know retired numbers didn't prevent Cole from choosing a "lower" number. There are plenty of them. Also his usual number is already taken. Who cares if it looks like a "football" number, it's just a number.

Me too, I was saving it for Jagr.

Looks like I'll be putting Cole on the back instead.

You'd have to wait probably 3 more centuries from now before the team is even close to running out of numbers to give their players.
Nice info

3 centuries from now all predictions about anything are off the table, imo

Haha, also John Garret on Sportsnet always seems to pick the Habs in his predictions or whatever, so it's only the worst of the worst liking the Habs.

Anyway, back to Cole's number. I don't mind it. I like his attitude after yesterday, he seems mature beyond his years, even if he's not scoring every game like I'm sure some people here might rag on him for if that's not happening, he will be a great fit in more ways than one.

Unless Jagr gets traded to the Habs somewhere along the way.

People are hung up on numbers, numbers are an individual choice, if he likes 72 then it means something to him. Numbers are not for us, it's for the guy wearing it, we all have our own. Mine is 17, no need to explain why, it's mine. I carry 23 on this board out of respect to Bob Gainey, my idol as a player.

If he gets 72 points that's all that matters or just close!

It's a good-looking number but I think that's I would see a top scorer getting it, you know. Cole seems more old school would have prefered him with a more traditional low number. That being said, it's a charismatic number. lol I just love the number 7.

Hope that, like Markov, he would like to finish his career here.

Plus, if he really were to score 72 points, he'd be a legit 1st-liner.
