i wasnt really intending to call out Sean either.
anyhow, how about my idea, far less administration and no concern about salary cap impact.
when a player retires, he has to be bought out at 50% of his remaining contract.
in this case, if Nolan retired, VAN would owe 2million dollars. would make us think twice about these types of contracts, no?
