Lou sucks as his job. Clearly lost it. Why is he taking so long to sign Larsson? I'm an impatient wussy.

holy hell - this is incredible. I'm stunned that a guy who potentially was going #1 overall in some mocks agreed to a dirt cheap contract and threw out the "teammates" line to forgo his normally cushy signing bonus.

N.CRED.I.BLE

Sounds like another Marty to me.

Did anyone expect the cap hit to be below a million?? I was expecting at least $2-2.5 hit. And the agents for the players taken ahead of him must he be cursing their ***** off right now.

Does anyone know what the rookie bonuses are based on? I'm just curious how many players actually get them.

To clarify, performance bonuses are not games played or signing bonuses.
From TG. Okay that explain previous entry level bonuses for Zharkov, Corrente ect.

With that I'll wait for Cap geek for the final number. Though it looks like his cap hit will be under 1.5 million at least.

Glad to see Larsson wants to be part of a winning hockey club by taking that pay cut.

They can be any of the standard bonuses, goals/points, games played etc, and most players get something along those lines. Corrente, Zharkov, According to TG the bonuses the Devils have given to their rookies were along the lines of games played type bonuses, basically a reward for being called up but not based on individual achievement like goals or points. A lot of our rookies have bonuses.

Pts, Goals, awards won such as winning the Calder or Conn Smythe (Toews winning that is what screwed the Hawks even more).

There is also games played, which Lou must not consider a performance bonus. That is what he has given out in the past.

So what was the tweet about then lol, he didn't go home and did sign. If this is how the Larsson negotiation ends I'm willing to go to August 2 with Zach

I doubt TG is right that the cap hit is just $925k. That's the base salary + the $92,500 signing bonus per year + probably whatever allowable team bonuses

This is the definition of team player. The definition of what it means to be a New Jersey Devil. Welcome Adam.

Must. Get. Larsson. Jersey.

1. Make a run in the 2nd half to almost make the playoffs

2. 3.6%

3. Larsson falls to number 4

4. Larsson signs a cap friendly deal

This is a dream

He said he didn't want the signing bonus though - so why wouldn't it be 925k?

*edit - individual bonuses... not signing bonus. Misread earlier quotes.

Well he clearly just endeared himself to the entire organization ...

I wonder how much having Stevens and Robinson walking around factored into his decision?
