3 years. Wow. Longer than the 2 years most of us were expecting.

Hopefully it is at a cap hit of lower than 1.5. It appears this is an investment on the part of the rangers in the hopes that he'll continue his play of last year.

3 years is surprising.

At least I won't have to change my username for 3 years, now.

If the cap is under $1.5, it's a great deal for the Rangers. If it's under $2, it's still acceptable.

I might be wrong but does this take up any UFA years?

Have to agree. I mean, i'll welcome him back at any price, I just think the Rangers might've gotten the short end of the stick if he gets a 2 mil a year.

Everyone says this now when people refer to players who were recently signed not being traded anytime soon.

He is the exception. Not the rule.

I think he's set to be a UFA next year, so it would take up 2 UFA years.

u think so?

outside of last season he had never scored more than 4 goals in an NHL season, or more than 6 points...

last 23 games of last season where he came back down to earth he had 1 goal 2 assists and a -5 (not that i put much stock in the +/- stat)

over 82 games thats 4 goals, and 7 assists....

id call 2 mil a year for 3 years GROSS overpayment.

Was expecting 1 or 2 years, but I won't judge the contract until we see the cap hit.

Love that he's locked up for three years. He's a better player than any 4th liner we've had recently, and he can also move up and play 3rd line as we saw this season. He's physical and versatile at the same time.

Like others said, got to see the dollar amounts, but I don't think it'll be anything outrageous. Sather is very good with signing RFA's before arbitration and giving them money they are actually worth.

If I had to guess, he took a lesser cap hit for more stability. He's a very good bottom-6 role player. I was impressed when he made Ovechkin look like a rag doll in the playoffs.

He's training again with the figure/power skater Barbara, so with that will most likely come more improvement or at least sustainability. I think he can replicate the season he had last year, but hopefully with more consistency.

Great news.

If I had to guess it's probably something like 5 Million/3 years. 1.66 each.

Agreed. People were comparing Boyle's next contract to Moulson's up until the All Star break. If a legit 30 goal getter is earning $2.4M, Boyle needs to be around 2/3 of that.....tops. I'd like to see it under 1.5M/per with that term.
