over 82 games thats 4 goals, and 7 assists....

id call 2 mil a year for 3 years GROSS overpayment.
you are paying him for what you expect he'll do the next 3 years, not what he did in the past before he figured out how to play in the nhl

According to Brooksie: 1.7 mil over 3 years

EDIT: beat to the punch, I think for the amount of ice time and steadyimprovement the money is just right

I'm gonna guess it's 3 years /5.5 mill.

Edit: Guess I was off a bit. I had him at $1,830,000 per.

Good deal Slats!

Great signing at 1.7 for three years. Imagine if he does manage to be a 20 goal scorer from here on (I'm not holding my breath, but it's at least 50/50 right now). Not a lot of big, defensively responsible guys who PK and score 20 for 1.7M

Good terms here. If he continues to refine his game, we have an absolute bargain. If he flattens out or regresses, he's not unmovable.

Just under what I was expecting. I'm very happy with that deal.

1.7mil. not great, but i can deal with it i guess. especially if we see first half Brian Boyle rather than everything else ive seen from him.

Good deal.

Let's just hope he's putting it all together and last year just wasn't a fluke.

even if he only scores 10 goals a year and plays solid on the pk and plays a good two way game this is a solid deal. BB is the type of player you need on your team to win cups, 3/4 tweener that can do it all

He's slightly overpaid this year, but with any progression he outplays that contract easily.

He'd easily get 2+ a year if he was a UFA.

He's getting what I wrote he's worth, so I'm happy with this deal. No downside to it. Worst case, he'll be worth the money as a bottom-6 player. Best case, he keeps developing and becomes a steal.

you make it sound like he has been in the league for 10 years...I'm not saying he's gonna be a star, but the kid had some success at BC that earned him a 1st round draft selection.

he had a couple of cups of coffee over 2 seasons in LA, 8 games 1 season and 28 the other...I consider his first season with the Rangers as his true rookie season if he continues to improve his skating and works on his strength he can be a 18-20 goal guy....time will tell if he is a one year wonder or not.

The guy found a way to get better and that says a lot about a player. Typically those types of guys are ones who continue to improve.

1.7 is fine with me. I was thinking 1.6. So that's only 100K more.
