Completely agree.

I would say maybe for the season opener vs. Montreal.

Ya, season opener would be classic and of course playoffs, whenever that may be.

Yeah the play-offs are the time to take back our whiteout, the one stolen by the Coyote's organization (not that it's done them a whole lot of good, Karma I suppose)

Always torn on this....

On one hand you want to wear white because its tradition, but only in the playoffs.

But on the other hand it is kind of silly for the crowd to be all decked out in white when the team they are cheering for is blue.

Save the whiteout for the playoffs. It'll feel that much better that you waited.

correction the teams supply their fans with crappy white shirts on the chairs before the game, we brought our own white out outfits, head to toe in white, ours will always be original and on a different level.....

Agreed with previous posts, keep it in the playoffs - and the Selanne return game in December.

As for game #1...torn on that. I ordered a navy jersey, so am I not to wear my new authentic Jets jersey to the first game? Also don't want to stick out as the guy in blue...although I will match the team on the ice!! Go Jets Go.

Come on, you guys. Let's really knock their socks off and have a whiteout for the open practice sessions on Saturday at the Iceplex.

just an fyi, talking to people that were part of the old organization and with the players the whiteout was a fan favorite but not a player favorite. A lot of the players were really confused by the waving of white towels (flags) felt it meant that they should fold and give up. I recognize people's love of tradition but maybe we should adopt something new given that the home jerseys are dark blue (and the opposing team will be in white)....just a thought.

The white equally surrender is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard
I'll be wearing white, just because till the new jerseys come in I'll be wearing my Selanne one.

Did they also invite you out for a snipe hunt?

Was just curious. Happens that my Selanne jersey is white anyway. Don Cherry was saying " You kids better wear white" to the hope opener (9th).

Anyhoo... thx for clearing that up!

In the Jets book I've been reading at work, Selanne described the whiteout as amazing. He would get chills and it would make everyone play a little better with all the support behind them. We're obviously not wearing white to surrender.

WHITE OUT @ every game - Bring The Passion

I'm sure most people will not be wearing white tonight which is sad. But opening night against Montreal. We all need to wear white. Forget those who think that it'sjust a playoff tradition. It's not. In fact there were often Jets games in the '80's and '90s were a wear white night.

I feel strongly that 'Bring The Passion' every single home game and creating white noise like it's a playoff game can be a strong home ice advantage for our team every single home game.

It would also be great world news that Winnipeg does the wear white - bring the passion every single home game that gives Winnipeg hockey a strong home ice advantage that it can be a unique sports tradition.

And I don't mean just wear white and sit quiet like Calgary Flames fans do each home game. I mean playoff energy every single game.

We've been waiting 15 years and what? not going to bring the passion every single game. You want to wait until the playoffs where every single playoff team does the wear blue, red, white, black, pom pom thing.

Understand people in Miami, Pittsburgh, College Station don't know a lick about Jets fans in the '90s.

We need to do something extremely passionate and that out does everything we have done before and more importantly. Out does everything any other professional sports team has done.

Bring the Passion at every single home game. Wear White - except for tonight

That makes the playoff whiteout less special IMO. I'm ok for a whiteout during the home opener, but not for every regular season game. It would be like having your Christmas tree up the whole year.

Actually, that's an interesting analogy which would make me tend to agree with you.. It's not like we need to wear white to prove our support.. The rabid screaming and cheering should do just that.

Yep. Like Chipman said regarding Tuxedo Night, "we've got nothing to prove anymore."

I am firmly in the "save the whiteout for the playoffs" camp.

The fact that the building will be stuffed with 15k rabid fans should be enough to sustain our boys for the regular season, then we can kick it up a notch in the playoffs.
