I mean, how could anyone not like a band that references Manitoba in the chorus of a song about the Abominable Snowman?

The Yeti...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3mb8HEZhRU

The chorus is...
Himalaya is my old time stomping ground (oh yes, time is of the essence)
Manitoba, better snows I've never found (oh yes, time is of the essence)

Sorry guys. These hair bands have about as much chance of being used as Justin Beiber. No musical genre despised by 80% or more of the crowd is going to fly.

Now I hate country about as much as a person can hate country. But I have to admit that there are WAY more fans of country than of these hair band wannabes.

Country has no business being played during a hockey game. Does anybody really want to hear "Save a horse, ride a cowboy" being played after a Jets goal? Hockey is full of adrenaline and power, something the Hard Rock and Metal genre is all about!

I am not familiar with the song but, yes, the country fans would like it. I would not. And there are more country fans out there (especially at Jets games) than there are hard rock and metal fans. At least 14,000 fans at every game would feel nothing but nausea for hard rock or metal.

I don't know about it being a goal song, but it is a great song none the less.

I'm feeling more a Chris Cornell vibe. Some Soundgarden Spoonman perhaps.

Not a chance. Too many people hate rap/hip-hop, country, and metal. None of those have a chance.

I have to disagree with you somewhat. I do think metal is out of the question, but Country is definitely in the equation, as is hip hop. It all depends on which songs. Stuff that crosses over into pop are more than possible for use as team welcome/ goal songs.

As amazing as LL Cool J Mama Said Knock You Out would be for an Evander Kane goal song I don't think old school hip hop will be used.

Anything used will likely have to be mainstream stuff that most everybody is familiar with whether it is classic rock or new rock/pop. None of that metal music will fly whether it's right or wrong.

I agree with jet228 that country may not be out of the equation.

I still kind of like the tone and beat to BURN IT TO THE GROUND as the entrance song.

To each their own I guess. Oh what would you give to be the MTS center DJ for Jets games?

Country/rap/hip hop that can pass as mainstream pop COULD be used during pre-game warm-ups. However, as the goal celebration song or the "Here Come the Jets" song, I don't see it.
