Tom Gulitti

Lou Lamoriello confirms Devils have signed Eric Boulton of WPG/Atlanta. Boulton had hat trick vs. Devils last season.

Well the Isles are playing three games in a row against the devils
martin-gillies-haley for a game or two probably
dont be surprised if we will have a brawl in one of those games

You had to remind me...

But I like this signing. A tough guy we can rely on steadily to play games for us. Good stuff.

I'm thinking Henrique is going to take over Clarkson's role and he will be traded after this move today.

Kovalchuk, Salmela, Hedberg, Boulton. I see where this is going. Good luck to him. Great 4th line fighter.

Clarkson traded eh? I'm pretty amateurish at this but...

Pyatt/Stempniak+pick for Zubrus and Clarkson?

If NJ were to trade those players I don't think they'd want roster players back. Picks/prospects no salary.

What are you guys looking for for Clarkson? Anything from Buffalo? I might be interested in him but we have almost zero cap space, which is the problem. We'd be looking to unload players and you guys are up against the cap as well so we might not be good trading partners at the moment.

Good signing for the Devils I suppose. Boulton's a tough guy that will fight and can play hockey. He can score, as the Devils unfortunately found out last season.

Boulton's a 4th line LW, so I wouldn't necessarily think Clarkson is a goner. With the Larsson contract, we probably aren't going to be pressed to move anybody unless Salvador is ready to go.

2 years? Hmm, you have to think only one of Janssen and Boulton makes the Devils roster now. Janssen could be going to Albany I guess.

Also, I just remembered, Boulton's another ex-Sabre added to Lou's team. He loves our former players.

Thanks for the info.

I was wondering why the Devils would sign him. To be honest, I can't see Clarkson back with the Devils considering they have now Boulton and Janssen who can possibly be in the lineup.

Love this move. Boulton is a character enforcer that has the ability to put himself into the position to make the plays. Often, he can not finish them, but he always had a chance or two each game to get a bit of space.

The Devils got one of our character guys last year in Hedberg, and now that got the other.

On that note, could one of Kovalchuk or Hedberg lobbied for Boulton? I could see how Kovalchuk would want to help out his old teammate that was beloved in Atlanta. Ditto for Moose.
