-Yeo: What are are your expectations this season?
-Spurgeon and Scandella: How important was the experience of playing during the Calder Cup run in Houston and did you learn anything which will help for this upcoming season?
-Could ask about the loss of Burns on the blue line
I'm just going to play-by-play this (and post count ***** it up). Hopefully that's OK.
Yeo has been VERY busy, by the sounds of things. Planning, organizing, getting all the coaching staff on the same page.
Talk of the development camp, talking about the kids. How they have a harsh transition from HS hockey, Juniors, etc. Teaching them early on, that they need to build good habits, the usual toe-the-line stuff.
This is Yeo's 4th development camp of his coaching career.
Question about Yeo's assistant's. The guy asking doesn't know much about them, which is odd.... Seeing Sydor is the only new guy.
Wilson holds "an amazing amount of respect" with the team. Darby has a "passion for the game", and brings a lot of energy.
Yeo is talking up Sydor like crazy. Passion appears to be his favorite word for his assistants. Sydor still sounds like he wants to play, he loves to stay late with practice, he loves to work with players.
Sydor taught Scandy a lot, by the sounds of things. Talking about Sydor during practices. "He still makes every single pass in practice."
Yeo knows that Wilson is still running the defense. Sydor is working with forwards, and may be doing line changes (that's my interpretation). Darby and Wilson will co-run the PP, Wilson will continue to run the PK.
Yeo expects his coaches to challenge him, and challenge each other.
