Mulletgate Part II | Grievance filed against Oilers re: Fraser (ZERO TOLERANCE)
We're going to do this again, hopefully for the last time. There's demand for this topic it seems so I won't just let it die. Considering we're nearly at 1000 posts in the other topic, there's no reason to re-open it.
Anyone who wants to come onto OUR board (and yes, it is our house), the LA board, and take petty shots will be instantly infracted. Got no tolerance for it anymore. So suffice it to say, should you have something to say, keep the crap out of it please. Secondly, if any Kings posters respond to perfectly fine posts with petty shots, those people will be dealt with also. All in all, we are allowed to talk about this on our board and it is a topic for LA Kings posters so take that into account.
Please make this thread a better one than the last one. Thanks.
The Kings got rid of Ryan Smyth and his horrible cap hit, we as fans have the best team top to bottom in at least a decade, the biggest concern is Colin Fraser and whether he is injured.
Yeah at least we got rid of that cap hit. Funny how that dummy Edmonton blogger Richard Cloutier is trash talking Lombardi and saying how we got ripped off in both the Penner and this trade. Dude is an idiot.

I say walk away, we made out much better than the Oilers did and arguing over principles isn't going to get us anywhere unless we go to the courts/league, which seems like a waste of time for paltry compensation.

Please don't post the article, for multiple reasons. One, that it's a piece of trash and quite inflammatory, two that the stuff contained within will just invite trolling once again.
I'll state the ovious here but for thoses thinking la got ripped off the cap space we got for smyth got us gagne so far. I still think we need some vet 3rd rw to replace simmonds so if we do sign someone i think the smyth trade will look even better. So in issoence its smyth for gagne, fraser a pick and roughly 2 million of cap space, which to me is a gr8 deal.
Just have to roll your eyes. The due diligence argument is meaningless because the trade would have been insured in case of this situation, it's just a far bigger headache to actually have to go back and take it through a long process over a late round pick or so, or worse, be forced to reverse the deal... Teubert + Klefbom =/= Penner, they just like to hate on him because he is no longer an Oiler, and it is easy for them to take their stance because Penner was unable to produce after Kopitar and Williams fell to injury. The Smyth trade was a win for us regardless. We got someone better than Smyth + Fraser + a pick for Smyth, we got paid to upgrade and shed salary... Lombardi is mad that their medical documents were inaccurate twice when trying to make this deal, nothing more nothing less.

Life is good!
I agree. It's just that it's summer and i'm bored. And also I know the Tambellini's personally and none of these actions are a surprise. The guys a snake and also a pretty ****** gm.
It's really a shame that the situation has degenerated to the point it is now. LA and EDM have for the most part been fairly decent trading partners over their respective histories and have enjoyed a fairly decent historical rivalry at times.
Smyth's homecoming should have been a celebration, and it has unfortunately been a bit tarnished by both sides of this situation. Here's hoping the best works out for both teams when everything is said and done.
I don't even care since whoever is coming will likely end up in Manchester. I'd like to see our homegrown get any open spots. Can't blame DL for being upset though.
One thing I really have to say to the Kings fans, even though I do not agree with your take OR DL, is that I'm really surprised at how strong and healthy the love for the Kings and it's team is here. Really nice to see. I understand that hockey in LA is probably like palm trees in Edmonton, but I really am pleasantly surprised to see the vigor and heart you guys have shown for a hockey team.
Hopefully hockey can grow even more popular in LA LA Land! (that wasn't meant as derogatory neither)
What is our contract number at? If we re anywhere near 50, I can see how this would piss off Lombardi if he is hoping to sign a few of the invites or other draft picks now eligible for Manchester amd now a guy who has to stay on the active roster and can't even play until November might make that more difficult or force another small deal.

43*, I think. With 3 RFA's.
*Assumed all AHL RFA's sign. (Except Fransson)
EDIT: So I guess essentially 46. Barring something unforseen with DD8, Richardson or Lewis.

He is the worst blogger. I shake my head every time i read his blogs. Yet, i still go back and read them.....Sick world. He's a terrible Oiler fan imo and he does talk a lot of crap.
The Copper and Blue Blogger, I forget the name, something with a "Z" is miles, miles better. I've read some of his stuff and it's pretty dam good analysis.
Who's on the hook for the cost of Frasers surgery, the Kings or the Oilers? Could this be one of the things that's causing some of the problems, sticking the Kings with the medical costs?

The only way hockey can grow in LA, is if the kings win the cup multiple times in 5 years. LA is the ultimate bandwagon city. The current kings fans are all die-hards, and we have pretty solid attendance 34 sell outs last year I think ...
As for this, I know Deans is very honest with media, and i enjoy that but i thibk this time it would have been better to keep his mouth shut.

even though hockey in la is not big, the sheer size of LA lets la have enough fans already, jus tlike you pointed out. i kinda liked it when the kings weren't that great and there was a lot of free tickets floating around. I hate how all the tickets are now so expensive. i hope kings hockey doens't get that much bigger.
