He is an interesting prospect to me due to his size, skill and work ethic but he has been plagued with being labeled a good player with size and a bit of skill who just never seemed to be able to put it all together. Its obvious he can due to the amount of success he has had at every level he has played but it seems that the closer to the NHL he gets the less confidence he has.

If it were simply an issue of physical development of skills then I think he would be in the NHL today but it is clearly imo that he is either going to take more time then expected to make the jump due to a lack of self confidence or he will simply wash out.

Either way it is up to him because there are times when he looks like he could do allot of damage at the NHL level and then there are times when he looks like he did during his first 6 games.

I would like to see him get a chance due to his size and grit but not in front of BudH who I see as being out best option for a bottom 6 add this year but the two play different games.
Thanks TG. It's tough with these kids. Lewis looked like a fish out of water in the NHL two years ago. Now he looks like he belongs.

I like Kings' size and skill set and could see him as a player that camps in front on the 2nd PP unit if he finds his game.

Holloway deserves at least a cup of coffee this coming season.

I could too. Its harder with some players more than others but at this point I would say that we will see King get another cup of tea with the team this coming season at some point and with any luck he will look more prepared. There is allot of fingers to be pointed to assign the blame for Kings failure this past season and one of them is clearly at him but there are at least three others who I think carry some responsibility.

In short King wasn't ready yet and those who chose him as the one to call put the kid in a really difficult place.

Water under the bridge.

I think Holloway makes the team out of camp. He would have to clear waivers to be sent down to Manchester, FYI.

I agree. Holloway would be my best guess to make the team. It will be his to lose.

Doesn't Holloway need a contract?

The Kings announced that they have signed forward Trevor Lewis, who had been a restricted free agent, to a two-year contract worth a total of $1.45 million ($725,000 salary-cap hit per season). Lewis totaled three goals and 10 assists in 72 games last season and was considered most valuable for his versatility (he can play center and both wings) and his penalty-killing ability.

[UPDATE: The Kings have also signed Marc-Andre Cliche, Rich Clune, David Meckler, Andrew Campbell, Patrick Mullen and Jeff Zatkoff to one-year contracts. Among restricted free agents, that leaves Drew Doughty, Corey Elkins and Bud Holloway unsigned.]

[UPDATE 2: Corey Elkins' agent, Scott Norton, posted on Twitter that Elkins ``will not be signing back with the Kings for another season,'' and said Elkins might play in Europe. Elkins played three games for the Kings in 2009-10 (with one goal) and played with Manchester last season, with 18 goals and 26 assists in 76 games.]

They've still made him a qualifying offer, though.

Haven't you heard? He only plays for teams in the Southeast division

Just means the Kings keep his RFA rights, just like Moller.
